Reprovando a decisão de Filipe Luís em não utilizar o camisa 9 contra o Bayern de Munique, nas oitavas do Mundial, o comentarista da Band prevê uma desvalorização do atacante com uma presença fixa entre os reservas. Neste cenário, para que o atrito seja resolvido de forma positiva, a presença em campo é vista como a única solução.
“Tudo está equivocado. Se você está em uma Copa do Mundo, tem um jogador do nível do Pedro e vai jogar contra um time forte, por que vai entrar com um menino (Wallace Yan) que não tem essa cancha toda? Deixou o Bruno Henrique e o Pedro no banco. Jogador de futebol, se tem um problema, bota no campo. Lá, ele vai ter que resolver.”, disse Luxa, no programa “Galvão e Amigos”.

Mesmo sendo um técnico com pulso firme, Luxemburgo encarou ambientes de tensão ao longo dos anos. Recordando que Antônio Carlos e Edmundo, na década de 90, chegaram às vias de fato no Palmeiras, o antigo comandante do Verdão considera que assuntos polêmicos são restritos ao vestiário e são resolvidos, de forma exclusiva, dentro do ambiente interno.
“Esses assuntos são resolvidos internamente em uma discussão com todo mundo no grupo e a porrada comendo! Eu já fiz a mesma coisa que o Filipe Luís. Eu não faria hoje. A juventude faz você fazer muitas coisas. O Edmundo e o Antônio Carlos saíram na porrada no vestiário. Os caras queriam apartar e eu falei: ‘Não vai apartar nada’. Quando acabou, eu chamei a imprensa: ‘O Antônio Carlos e o Edmundo saíram na porrada. Domingo, eles estão escalados. Se não correrem, é problema deles’. Homem forte do futebol do Flamengo, José Boto foi incluído no discurso de Luxemburgo. Segundo o ex-treinador, o português, ao contrário de Filipe Luís, deveria ter falado após o triunfo contra o São Paulo, pelo Brasileirão. Além disso, o desligamento de Carlos Naval, que não é mais o gerente da base do clube, causou uma forte insatisfação.
