Léo Jardim acertou renovação até 2030 (Matheus Lima/Vasco)
Edmundo segue manifestando o sentimento de revolta ao falar da gestão de Pedrinho no Vasco. Após o clube contratar Thiago Mendes, o ex-camisa 10 trouxe uma informação sobre o acordo que fez o atleta desembarcar em São Januário. Levando em conta o imbróglio da renovação com Léo Jardim, o empresário do goleiro, segundo o ‘Animal’, exigiu a contratação do volante para o camisa 1 assinar o vínculo até 2030.
“Eu tive uma informação e fiquei pensando se falo ou não falo porque envolve outras pessoas, mas minha crítica é direto ao presidente. Eu não tenho nada contra o Thiago Mendes e nada contra o Léo Jardim e o estafe do Léo Jardim. Para o Léo Jardim aceitar a renovação, o empresário obrigou o Vasco a contratar o Thiago Mendes.”, disse Edmundo, em live no canal “Mundo Ed”.
Embora seja capaz de agregar bastante ao trabalho de Fernando Diniz à frente do Vasco, Thiago Mendes não empolga Edmundo. Isso porque o volante vem de poucos jogos no Oriente Médio, motivo pelo qual a suposta exigência é avaliada como algo que Pedrinho sequer deveria ter ouvido.
“É um jogador excepcional. Mas, nos últimos dois anos, dá para contar na mão as vezes que ele entrou em campo no campeonato do Catar. Isso dá uma demonstração que o atleta não reúne as melhores condições físicas e técnicas. Ser obrigado a tomar esse tipo de decisão tem a ver com a fraqueza do nosso presidente em aceitar as imposições do Coutinho em contratar Souza e Alex Teixeira. O Léo Jardim não teve nada a ver com essa história, foi uma imposição do empresário.”, prosseguiu.
Edmundo vê atitude passível de impeachment
Ciente que Thiago Mendes não é um jogador barato, Edmundo sinalizou uma decisão nociva ao Vasco. Totalmente afastado do grupo que já esteve entre os apoiadores, o ídolo do Cruz-Maltino, caso estivesse presente nos bastidores, apoiaria o processo de impeachment de Pedrinho.
“É mais uma demonstração que não está se importando com o clube. Eu tenho certeza que o Thiago Mendes não é um atleta barato. Isso mostra uma incompetência gigantesca. Se eu estivesse na posição de oposição dentro do clube, eu pediria o impeachment do presidente. Acho que isso não vai acontecer porque a grande maioria dos conselheiros são a favor dessa péssima gestão.”, afirmou.
Brasileirão não é prioridade?
Apesar do período de treinos, o Vasco decepcionou no retorno do Brasileirão. Mostrando uma grande apatia no duelo contra o Botafogo, a equipe de Fernando Diniz, derrotada no Mané Garrincha, segue sem engrenar em campo. Neste cenário, Edmundo enxerga uma falta de preocupação com a ameaça do rebaixamento em 2025.
“O campeonato importante que o Vasco está disputando é o Brasileiro. Eu não acho que o Vasco vai ganhar alguma coisa nesta temporada. Deveria se concentrar no Brasileiro, que está sendo menosprezado pela atual diretoria. O presidente está preocupado em dizer que salvou as finanças e que vai construir o estádio.”, externou.
