O empate sem gols entre Duque de Caxias e Cabofriense, pela Série A2 do Campeonato Carioca, no último sábado, ficou marcado por uma cena lamentável após o apito final. Os jogadores do time da Baixada Fluminense pularam o alambrado para a arquibancada do Estádio Romário de Souza Faria para agredir os torcedores presentes.
Três jogadores do Duque de Caxias iniciaram a confusão. O lateral Léo Júnior foi o primeiro atleta a pular o alambrado e invadir a arquibancada. O volante Eduardo, conhecido como Neném, e o atacante Luiz Augusto — que aparece sem camisa no vídeo — também foram para cima dos torcedores presentes no estádio.
Luiz Augusto dá um soco em Lucas Quirgo, torcedor do Duque de Caxias que estava acompanhando a partida, e a confusão logo é apartada. Em contato com o GLOBO, Lucas explica que os torcedores estavam protestando contra o rebaixamento da equipe para a terceira divisão do campeonato estadual, quando os atletas foram à arquibancada de forma agressiva.
— Estávamos protestando contra o rebaixamento do time quando alguns jogadores vieram em direção aos torcedores de forma agressiva. Um dos torcedores é uma pessoa com deficiência, e eu entrei na frente para protegê-lo. Foi nesse momento que os jogadores partiram para cima de mim e me agrediram covardemente. Eram cerca de 10 jogadores contra mim — disse Lucas Quirgo ao GLOBO.

A reportagem apurou que na versão dos atletas, eles afirmam que não partiram para cima torcedores porque foram xingados, e sim, pois achavam que seus familiares tinham sido agredidos no local. O que, segundo pessoas próximas da confusão, não aconteceu.
Em nota oficial, o Duque de Caxias afirma que “não compactua com qualquer ato de violência ocorrido” e informou que “tomará as medidas internas cabíveis em relação aos jogadores envolvidos”. Com o empate no último sábado, a equipe foi rebaixada para a terceira divisão do estadual, que tem previsão para começar em setembro deste ano.

O clube esclarece que solicitou previamente o patrulhamento da Polícia Militar – conforme consta na súmula –, além de ter contratado segurança privada, que foi vista atuando para conter a confusão nas arquibancadas.
O clube repudia veementemente a agressão sofrida por membros da barra brava do Duque de Caxias, que representa um dos maiores patrimônios da nossa história. Esses torcedores são a força viva que alimenta e mantém este clube de pé, mesmo em meio às adversidades.
Lamentamos profundamente este episódio, que marca uma das páginas mais tristes da nossa trajetória. O Duque de Caxias tomará as medidas internas cabíveis em relação aos jogadores envolvidos, com a responsabilidade que o momento exige.
