Iversen uvedl, že pes na něj zaútočil, když běhal se svými reprezentačními kolegy Johannesem Hösflotem Klaebem a Niklasem Dyrhaugem. Společnost jim dělal také norský fotbalista Alexander Sörloth.
„Běhali jsme intervaly na štěrkové cestě, a protože jsem v dobré kondici, běžel jsem opravdu rychle, takže se pes pravděpodobně jen bál. Byl na vodítku, ale bohužel majitel nedával pozor a pes mě kousl,“ uvedl Iversen. „Naštěstí rána nebyla moc hluboká a nevyžadovala stehy, ale musím brát léky,“ dodal.
Na fotografiích, které uveřejnily listy Addresseavisen a Verdens Gang, je vidět Iversen u vchodu na pohotovost s kousnutím na zadní straně levého stehna. Po ošetření si bude muset dát v tréninku pauzu. „Moje forma byla až do toho kousnutí výborná, takže doufám, že se to dobře zahojí a forma bude stejně dobrá i potom,“ řekl Iversen.
