Ex-zagueiro do Verdão disputou duas vezes a competição e falou sobre o atual momento que vive o clube, sonhando em levantar a taça nos Estados Unidos
Multicampeão pelo Palmeiras, o zagueiro Luan, que atualmente está no Toluca, do México, não esconde a sua paixão pelo Verdão e segue torcendo pelo time. Agora, ele está nos Estados Unidos acompanhando de perto a Copa do Mundo de Clubes. Inclusive, foi visto com sua família na arquibancada acompanhando o duelo contra o Porto.
E essa é uma competição que Luan entende bem, já que foi titular nos dois Mundiais recentes que o Palmeiras disputou, em 2021 e 2022. Na primeira, o time comandado por Abel Ferreira perdeu para o Tigres na semifinal. No ano seguinte, chegou à decisão, mas foi derrotado na prorrogação para o Chelsea, por 2 a 1.
Em uma entrevista concedida ao canal “PodPorco”, exibido no Youtube, o zagueiro relembrou o título perdido para os ingleses e fez uma comparação com o time atual, entendendo que hoje chega com um elenco mais forte. “Sinceramente, eu não me envergonho em falar que o time hoje é melhor que o de 2022, se pegar as opção, tanto dentro de campo, quanto no banco de reservas. Hoje a gente vê o Veiga no banco, é um time com muitas opções”, opinou.
Luan projeta Copa do Mundo de Clubes
Depois, o defensor opinou sobre o que esperar do time na Copa do Mundo de Clubes, acreditando que é possível ir longe e encarar os europeus, já que este início de competição tem mostrado isso. “Tem tudo para chegar longe e fazer um grande Mundial. A gente sabe das dificuldades de enfrentar os europeus, que são grandes potências econômicas, mas o jogo é resolvido dentro de campo. O Fluminense foi superior ao Borussia, acho que é muito mais de mentalidade, de você acreditar que pode ganhar”, disse.
No Verdão entre 2017 e 2024, Luan foi titular na maior parte do tempo em que esteve no clube, vencendo 12 títulos ao todo. Entre eles, duas Libertadores, três Campeonatos Brasileiros, uma Copa do Brasil e quatro estaduais. Ele foi para o Toluca em junho do ano passado e venceu o Campeonato Mexicano deste ano.
Próximos jogos do Palmeiras
Após empatar na estreia contra o Porto, o Alviverde se prepara para dois jogos decisivos, visando a classificação ao mata-mata. Nesta quinta-feira (19), às 13h (de Brasília), o clube paulista enfrenta o Al Ahly, do Egito, time que já enfrentou em 2021 e 2022, na disputa de terceiro lugar e na semifinal, respectivamente. Este adversário jogou contra times brasileiros diversas vezes e tem um retrospecto negativo.
Por fim, encerra a fase de grupos contra o Inter Miami, de Lionel Messi, no dia 23, às 22h. Com uma vitória e um empate nestes dois jogos, o Palmeiras avança às oitavas de final. Mas, se quiser terminar em primeiro lugar, provavelmente terá que vencer as duas partidas e por um saldo de gols mais relevante, já que este critério pode ser decisivo.
