In another heart-touching show of love, Jason Kelce, who stopped playing in the NFL not long ago, told the world how much he cares and prays for his younger brother, Travis Kelce. He refered to him as more than family, he called him his “best friend on the planet.”
Jason spoke at the American Century Championship golf event in Lake Tahoe on July 11. During his talk to People magazine, he told them about their strong link. The former Philadelphia Eagles player, known for his strong lead on the field and open heart off it, only had good words for the Kansas City Chiefs player.

Brother rivalry that lead to unbreakable brotherhood
From a young age in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Jason, 36, and Travis, 34, lived just two years apart. They grew up always trying to outdo each other. Jason shared stories of rough football games in the yard and the fights that came with them. But as they grew, this fight turned into deep respect and a bond that grew as they both became pro football stars.
Jason got picked by the Eagles in 2011 and stayed there for 13 years, while Travis started with the Chiefs in 2013. Though on different teams, they both got to the top of their game, won Super Bowls, and became beloved by fans.
We’ve leaned on each other our whole lives. That’s only become more true as we’ve gotten older
Strength on and off the field
Now that Jason has stopped playing, their bond has new sides. They run the liked and famous “New Heights” podcast together. They chat on the show and even more outside of it, which Jason loves.
We talk on the phone once a week for the show, but honestly, we talk way more than that. It’s something I cherish.
Evolution from brother to uncle
The podcast, mixing sports talk with fun brother jokes and deep talks on life experiences, has won many fans all over the world.
In the Lake Tahoe talk, Jason also said lovely things about how Travis acts with his family. Jason, a dad to four girls with his wife Kylie, said Travis has been a great “Uncle Trav.“
“He’s an outstanding uncle. He gives great advice. He’s always there for the girls, and they absolutely adore him.”
Even though Travis might seem a big star on and off the field, at home, he is down-to-earth and kind, Jason said.
Great Kelce legacy
The Kelce brothers have truly left their mark on the NFL, not only for their skills but for how they stand by each other. They were in the news in 2023 when they were the first brothers to play against each other in a Super Bowl, showing their family to the whole country.
Now known for more than just football, Jason and Travis stand as figures of fun and family in the culture.
At the core, it is all about family love, as Jason put it clearly:
We’re a family that loves each other. We love being around each other. And it’s just good to sit down and talk-whether that’s on a podcast or over dinner.
While Travis is still fighting to get back to his best shape to reach another Super Bowl, Jason Kelce is enjoying his new life where he can openly support his brother and spend time with the rest of his family. We have seen Jason vibing with Taylor Swift everytime they see each other, and he has said that the pop superstar has brought more joy to their family.
