Uma das transferências que mais deu que falar nesta fase inicial do mercado de verão tornou-se oficial nesta segunda-feira: Álvaro Carreras deixou o Benfica e já é jogador do Real Madrid. O lateral espanhol, de 22 anos, assinou com os merengues um contrato válido para as próximas seis temporadas, isto é, até junho de 2031.
Com a venda do jogador, os encarnados recebem 50 milhões de euros, um valor que faz de Carreras o lateral mais caro alguma vez vendido pelo emblema da Luz – o anterior recorde pertencia a Nélson Semedo, que deixou 35,7 milhões de euros nos cofres das águias, quando assinou pelo Barcelona. O jovem futebolista tornou-se ainda no segundo defesa que mais dinheiro rendeu ao clube – superado apenas por Rúben Dias, cuja saída para o Manchester City se consumou por 71,6 milhões de euros – e na sétima maior venda da história do Benfica, tal como se pode verificar na galeria disponibilizada abaixo.
Recorde-se que Carreras tinha chegado ao Benfica em janeiro de 2024, na altura emprestado pelo Manchester United, tendo sido adquirido em definitivo no verão seguinte por 6 milhões de euros. De águia ao peito, o defesa espanhol realizou um total de 68 partidas oficiais, nas quais apontou cinco golos e realizou ainda seis assistências.
