Apesar da grande atuação e da vitória por 4 a 1 sobre o Grêmio, no Mineirão, o técnico Leonardo Jardim evitou falar em favoritismo ao título do Campeonato Brasileiro. Em entrevista coletiva após o jogo, neste domingo (13), o treinador português deixou claro que o objetivo principal do Cruzeiro é garantir vaga na próxima Libertadores.
“Neste momento, nós temos os nossos objetivos bem definidos. Como já falei, não podemos criar expectativas de que o Cruzeiro foi feito para ser campeão. O Cruzeiro foi feito para ser competitivo e chegar à Libertadores. Este é o grande objetivo proposto pelo clube”, afirmou o técnico.
A fala veio após a importante goleada da equipe mineira, que vem mostrando evolução e consistência sob o comando de Jardim. Ainda assim, o treinador manteve os pés no chão, evitando projeções além do planejamento inicial da diretoria celeste ou mesmo uma disputa com o Flamengo pelo título.

Mesmo sem assumir a candidatura ao título nacional, o português Leonardo Jardim reforçou que a equipe mineira precisa manter o foco total nas duas frentes em que ainda está vivo: o Campeonato Brasileiro e a Copa do Brasil.
“Não temos Copa do Mundo, nem Libertadores como outros clubes que disputam títulos. Cada jogo do Campeonato Brasileiro e da Copa do Brasil tem que ser tratado como uma final. Temos que dar tudo”, completou o treinador.
Próximo desafio do Cabuloso
O Cruzeiro volta a campo na próxima quinta-feira (17), às 19h30 (horário de Brasília), no Maracanã, contra o Fluminense, pela 14ª rodada do Brasileirão. A equipe mineira busca manter o embalo para seguir na parte de cima da tabela e alcançar as metas sob o comando do treinador português.
