Samed Yesil (inzwischen 31) galt als das größte Sturm-Talent des deutschen Fußballs. Doch zwei Kreuzbandrisse ließen ihn schon früh den Anschluss in seiner Karriere verlieren, trotz Traumvertrag beim FC Liverpool.
Die „Reds“ zahlten 1,3 Mio. Euro Ablöse für den damals 17-Jährigen. Sein einziger Startelf-Einsatz für Liverpool war im League Cup gegen Swansea City.

In der abgelaufenen Saison verpasste er mit 95 (!) Saisontoren in 25 Spielen nur knapp die 100-Tore-Marke. Dazu gelangen ihm 37 weitere Vorlagen. Er schnürte in der Kreisliga B für den Krefelder Klub Anadolu Türkspor II die Schuhe. Logisch, dass seine 95 Tore dem Team zum Aufstieg reichten.
Yesil zu „Fußball.de“: „Ob ich nun in der Kreisliga B oder Regionalliga spiele, ist mir persönlich egal. Hauptsache, ich habe den Spaß am Fußball zurückgewonnen.“ Trotz seiner Mega-Quote geht er künftig für Türkgücü Ratingen in der Düsseldorfer Kreisliga A auf Torejagd.
Dabei begann seine Karriere einst so hoffnungsvoll. Bei der U17-WM 2011 gelangen ihm sechs Tore und acht Vorlagen, wurde mit Deutschland Dritter. Mit Bayer Leverkusen durfte er am 31. Spieltag 2011/12 gegen Hertha BSC (3:3) sogar neun Minuten Bundesliga-Luft schnuppern.
Die Scouts standen Schlange. Er war ein klassischer „Knipser“, ein Strafraumstürmer. Nicht umsonst erhielt er in der U17 des DFB den Spitznamen „Gerd“, in Anlehnung an Gerd Müller (†75).
Den Traum des Fußballprofis hat er ausgeträumt. Das Geld, dass er verdient hat, hat er sinnvoll investiert. Eine Umschulung zum Logistiker hat er jüngst beendet.
„Mein Körper ist einfach nicht für den Profi-Sport gemacht“, sagt er einst. Yesil: „Immer wenn man dachte, man ist wieder bei 100 Prozent, kam der nächste Rückschlag. Das macht etwas mit dem Kopf. Irgendwann hatte ich keine Lust und Kraft mehr.“
Die Lust am Toreschießen ist dennoch genauso da, wie früher. Nur halt ein paar Klassen tiefer. Doch wenn das Netz zappelt, ist die Liga am Ende egal.
