Newly crowned Cal Raleigh joins the ESPN set still clearly a bit overwhelmed by the events of the night:
“The whole night is amazing. First All-Star appearance, getting to experience the whole thing all day … The whole Derby and getting to see everybody, and obviously getting to win it, it’s unbelievable. Getting to do it with my dad and my brother, I’m just speechless tonight.”
When it’s suggested that Cal’s younger brother Tom Jr. was the MVP of his group tonight, constantly shouting encouragement to Cal as he took swings, Cal quickly agrees:
“He was. He was hyping me up all night. I would hit one good, and he was jacked up back there. … He was honestly the MVP of the night. He was great, talking to my dad, talking to me. I was kind of surprised. It was awesome. … He might get a bump in his allowance, I don’t know. My dad can get whatever he wants, he threw the ball great tonight.”
