Er ist bislang der Königs-Transfer des Hamburger SV: Yussuf Poulsen (31). Der Stürmer kam für rund 1,5 Millionen Euro Ablöse aus Leipzig. Im Trainingslager in Herzogenaurach sprach der Däne erstmals ausführlich über seine aktuelle Situation.
Poulsen über den Grund, wieso er zum HSV ging: „Ich sehe den HSV immer noch als einen der größten Vereine, den es in Deutschland gibt – auch wenn er sieben Jahre in der 2. Liga war. Vergangene Saison war fast jedes Spiel ausverkauft mit 57000 Zuschauern in der 2. Liga, das sagt auch etwas aus.“

Und weiter sagt Poulsen: „Ich habe mich mit keinem anderen Verein so intensiv beschäftigt wie mit Hamburg.“
Zudem betont der dänische Nationalspieler, dass das Wirtschaftliche nicht entscheidend gewesen sei: „Für mich spielt Geld keine Rolle. Ich will so viel Fußball spielen auf höchstem Niveau wie möglich. Das war immer mein Ziel in meiner Karriere – und nicht, wieviel ich verdienen kann.“ Sein Grundgehalt in Hamburg soll bei rund 1,8 Millionen Euro liegen. In Leipzig hätte er inklusive Bonuszahlungen auf bis zu sieben Millionen Euro kommen können.

Und weiter sagt der Hoffnungsträger: „Die Leute müssen wissen, dass man diesen Spaß am Fußball braucht. Die Jungs, die länger hier waren und sind, haben wahrscheinlich zuletzt ein bisschen den Druck gespürt: Wir müssen aufsteigen. Jetzt ist es das erste Mal seit langem so, dass sie frei aufspielen können. Das muss man im Kopf behalten. Jetzt geht es zu zeigen, wie gut wir sind.“
Poulsen über seine Rolle als Anführer: „Ich bin mir bewusst, dass ich viel Erfahrung mitbringe und vielen Leuten helfen kann in den nächsten Jahren. Auf die Aufgabe freue ich mich. In Leipzig musste ich auch Spieler formen.“
Und wie will er das beim HSV machen? Poulsen: „Das ergibt sich von dem, was ich beobachte. Man muss nicht jeden gleich behandeln, dann behandelst du Leute ungerecht. Denn Menschen sind verschieden. Darum muss man auch verschiedene Herangehensweisen benutzen. Manche brauchen einen Tritt in den Arsch, andere brauchen ein Streicheln auf dem Kopf.“
