Dienstagvormittag muss Simic in die Röhre. Eine Magnetresonanztomografie (MRT) soll Aufschluss über den Zustand seines linken Knies bringen. Erste Verdachts-Diagnose: Kreuzbandriss. Wird sie bestätigt, ist das Handball-Jahr 2025 für Simic vorzeitig beendet. Statt Simic muss jetzt Torwart-Trainer Carsten „Lütti“ Lichtlein (44!) wieder mit auf den Spielberichtsbogen.
Die Sorgen um den Montenegriner sind nur die Spitze des Melsunger Verletzungs-Eisbergs. Der tunesische Rückraumspieler Amine Darmoul fehlt nach Kreuzbandriss noch bis Sommer.
Der Däne Aaron Mensing (Rückraum) kehrt nach Achillessehnen-Riss frühestens zur Rückrunde der nächsten Saison zurück. Arnar Freyr Arnasson (Kreis) fällt mit Oberschenkel-Verletzung aus, Bruno Eickhoff (Kreis) mit Riss der Syndesmose auch.
[–>Die Rückraumspieler Elvar Örn Jonsson, Alexandre Cavalcanti und Letten-Latte Dainis Kristopans wandeln angeschlagen am Rande der Einsatzfähigkeit. Adam Morawski, der Ersatzmann von Simic im Tor, hat wie Spielmacher Erik Balenciaga immer wieder Knie-Probleme. Zuletzt war in Melsungen an einen vernünftigen Trainingsbetrieb nicht mehr zu denken.
„Die letzten Monate sind für uns wirklich kompliziert“, bestätigt MT-Trainer Roberto Parrondo. Der Spanier weiter: „Außenstehende können nicht wissen, wie sehr die Spieler leiden oder wie wir trotz vieler Verletzungen das Training sinnvoll gestalten müssen.“
Für Sportvorstand Allendorf strahlen die Probleme jetzt schon in die kommende Saison aus. Bewahrheitet sich der Kreuzbandriss bei Simic, muss der Manager auf Torwartsuche gehen. Zu einem Zeitpunkt, an dem der Markt nahezu leer gefegt ist.
Gleichzeitig gibt es mit dem THW Kiel einen weiteren, namhaften Suchenden. Der Rekordmeister ist auf Keeper-Suche, weil bei Sommer-Zugang Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas (kommt vom FC Barcelona) im Februar ein Kreuzband riss.
Weitere Viertelfinal-Partien in der European League am Dienstag mit deutscher Beteiligung: GOG Gudme – SG Flensburg (18.45 Uhr) und Limoges Handball – THW Kiel (20.45 Uhr, beide live bei Dyn).
