Pope Francis is currently the sitting pope in the Vatican, he is the leader of the catholic church and his life is wildly interesting. Born as Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Pope Francis took the high seat when Pope Benedict XVI stepped down from his duties citing deteriorating strength in 2013. This gave Pope Francis the chance to make history as the very first Latin American pope in human history, given that he was born in Argentina.
From that moment forward, he has been leading the catholic church into a new era of more acceptance over philosophical matters that were frowned upon before his arrival to the high seat. Currently, he lives in the Vatican and is known as one of the most accepting popes to ever live. Despite his position, Pope Francis‘ net worth is not as great as one would think. In fact, he is nowhere near the wealth previous popes have amassed during their time in the seat.

Instead, Pope Francis decided to either donate this money to the church, use it to endow a foundation, placed in trust or pass it on to a family member.
Pope Francis has in fact never received money from the church, even before he was named as the new pope. In 2001, the Vatican were the ones who confirmed that Pope Francis has always remained true to his Jesuit philosophy. Despite this, the pope does have many assets that come with the job and that can definitely be considered when we are talking about his net-worth.
