Titelverteidiger Leverkusen hat nach dem Frust-Remis bei St. Pauli bereits acht Punkte Rückstand auf Tabellenführer Bayern.
Sichtlich enttäuscht ging Bayer-Trainer Xabi Alonso in die Kurve der mitgereisten Auswärtsfans am Millerntor und bedankte sich. Ist Alonsos Zeit nach knapp drei Jahren in Leverkusen bald vorüber.
[–>Alonso ist der Top-Kandidat auf die mögliche Nachfolge von Carlo Ancelotti als Real-Trainer. Zwar hat es noch keinen Real-Anruf bei Bayer gegeben. Doch das ist wohl nur eine Frage der Zeit, damit rechnen sie in Leverkusen auch.
Alonso hat Vertrag bis 2026. Er könnte vorzeitig zu einem Spitzenklub gehen. Das ist mündlich zwischen ihm und Bayer abgesprochen. Eine Ablöse würde im zweistelligen Millionen-Bereich liegen.
Bislang hat sich der Ex-Real-Star intern nicht geäußert. Nach BILD- und SPORTBILD-Informationen will der Werksklub noch vor Saisonende ein klares Bekenntnis von Alonso zu seiner Zukunft haben: Zu Real gehen oder bleiben!
Schließlich muss die neue Saison geplant werden – mit altem oder neuem Cheftrainer.

Carro: „Eine Trainerentscheidung hat viele andere Komponenten, die davon betroffen sind. Wir bereiten ja schon mit Xabi Alonso die Vorbereitung vor, wir bereiten mit ihm den Kader vor. Wenn am Ende Xabi Alonso tatsächlich woanders hingehen sollte, dann müssen wir das mit ihm in den nächsten Wochen klarmachen und das werden wir auch in den nächsten Wochen mit ihm diskutieren.“
Und weiter betont er. „Da werden wir nicht bis zum Ende der Saison warten, sondern das werden wir auch vorher entscheiden müssen, denn das hat andere Konsequenzen in der Kaderplanung, in der Vorbereitung. Von daher ist sowohl Xabi, wie uns selber bewusst: Das ist eine Entscheidung, die jetzt nicht mehr lange hingezogen werden kann, sondern relativ schnell entschieden werden muss.“

Auf die Frage, was sein Bauchgefühl sagen würde, meinte Carro: „Mein Bauchgefühl ist 50:50.“
