
Zeit für die Rente?
Nicht, wenn es nach Edin Dzeko geht. Mit 39 Jahren scheint der Fußball-Star noch immer nicht ans Karriere-Ende zu denken. Allerdings: Fenerbahçe will seinen Vertrag wohl nicht verlängern, wie „TRT Sport“ berichtet.
[–>Somit wäre Dzeko im Sommer ablösefrei zu haben. Die Türken wollen lieber einen jüngeren Torjäger holen. Und das, obwohl der Bosnier in dieser Saison 48 Spiele absolvierte, 19 Tore schoss und acht Vorlagen gab. Seit er 2023 nach Istanbul kam, schoss er sogar 44 Tore in 94 Spielen.
Neben einer Rückkehr in die Serie A – der AC Florenz soll interessiert sein – gehört wohl auch Hajduk Split zum Kreis der Interessenten. Auch über ein Karriereende in Katar oder Saudi-Arabien wird spekuliert.
Die wahrscheinlichste Option: der kroatische Erstligist Hajduk Split. Der Ex-Wolfsburger hat enge Verbindungen zu Kroatien. Berichten zufolge besitzt er mehrere Immobilien dort, unter anderem ein Restaurant in Dubrovnik. Die Stadt liegt nur 232 Kilometer von Split entfernt, soll zu Dzekos Lieblingsreisezielen gehören. Von Split aus könnte er sie also in knapp drei Stunden erreichen.
In seiner Karriere sammelte der Mittelstürmer zahlreiche Erfolge. Unter anderem wurde er viermal Fußballer des Jahres in seinem Heimatland Bosnien-Herzegowina, zweimal englischer Meister mit Manchester City, zweimal Pokalsieger in Italien mit Inter Mailand.
Und: Deutscher Meister mit den Wölfen in der Saison 2008/09. Ein Jahr später wurde er Torschützenkönig der Bundesliga mit 22 Toren. 2011 folgte der Wechsel auf die Insel.

In Istanbul ist er unter José Mourinho nach wie vor Kapitän, hat eine zentrale Rolle. Schon damals war Dzeko ablösefrei zu haben, als er von Inter kam. Für viele Vereine wäre der Ex-Bundesliga-Star trotz seines Alters also noch immer eine Verstärkung.
Wo auch immer es also für den Stürmer weitergeht, die Rente wird es wohl nicht sein.
