He had just started a new tour called the “Oneness Tour 2025” and Carlos Santana has had to stop abruptly due to a health problem. The incident took place this past Tuesday where the Mexican guitarist had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital in San Antonio after fainting during the sound check prior to the concert he was going to give at the Majestic Theatre in the city.
At the age of 77, he had planned a tour of several countries around the world and in one of them, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was forced to give a concert in the rain and freezing temperatures. And just a few hours after having lived that experience. Perhaps the musician’s message through his Facebook account and after this concert now has a greater meaning: “From our hearts, we wish to thank you for showing up with such beautiful energy and love in the cold and rain. You danced, you sang, and you faced the elements like true warriors of light,” he said.

After this concert, the musician traveled to the site of his next concert at the Majestic Theatre and when he had been tuning the chords for a while he felt unwell, having to leave the venue by ambulance. In that process, he suffered a fainting spell and the concert organizers had to move quickly so that he could receive immediate medical assistance. Medical attention determined that he was suffering from severe dehydration that would force him to cancel his concert.
His manager, Michael Vrionis, has been clear about it: “It is with deep disappointment that I have to inform you that tonight’s concert in San Antonio has been postponed. Mr. Santana was at the venue (Majestic Theatre) preparing for tonight’s show when he experienced an event that was determined to be dehydration. Out of an abundance of caution and for Mr. Santana’s health, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent,” he said. Although he made a clarification: “He is fine and is looking forward to returning to San Antonio soon, as well as continuing his tour of the U.S.,” he concluded.
