Denílson avaliou o momento de Dorival Júnior no futebol brasileiro. Sem clube desde que foi demitido da seleção brasileira, o treinador foi especulado em Corinthians e Santos.
“Ele valorizou (o passe dele). Obviamente, quando você vai para a seleção o seu passe fica muito mais valorizado, isso é para treinador e jogador de futebol. O Dorival está no mercado, tem experiência e acho que o vestiário do Corinthians precisa de um treinador que tem ‘costas largas’, e o Dorival tem”, opinou Denílson.
O Alvinegro da capital está fazendo de tudo para fechar com ele após não ter sucesso com Tite. Apesar da alta pedida salarial por parte de Dorival, a diretoria busca chegar em um consenso.
O Timão demitiu Ramón Díaz na semana passada depois da derrota para o Palmeiras. Neste período, a direção sente dificuldades para definir o próximo comandante.

Dorival Júnior vinha em baixa na carreira, mas voltou a estar no radar após bom trabalho no Ceará em 2022. Depois da passagem no clube nordestino, ele foi contratado pelo Flamengo no mesmo ano e venceu as taças da Copa Libertadores da América e Copa do Brasil, mas não teve o contrato renovado.
Tempos depois, já em 2023, o técnico fechou com o SPFC e venceu o primeiro título de Copa do Brasil da história do time do MorumBIS. Isso alavancou ele até a seleção brasileira, porém o trabalho não evoluiu e o experiente profissional foi demitido após goleada sofrida para a Argentina nas Eliminatórias para a Copa do Mundo.
