With the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars made a bold move that turned heads across the football world, selecting Travis Hunter, a dynamic athlete who’s redefining what it means to be a modern football player. According to team sources, the initial plan is to feature Hunter heavily in the offense, using his speed, route running, and elite ball skills to stretch defenses and create mismatches. But this isn’t a position switch, it’s an expansion. The Jacksonville Jaguars fully intend to rotate him in on defense, where he’s already proven to be one of the most instinctive and physically gifted DBs of his generation.
“He’s a unicorn,” said a team insider. “Why limit a guy who can change the game in two different phases?”
The strategy also protects Hunter from burnout, ensuring his transition into the league isn’t overloaded while keeping both sides of his game sharp.
