Was wohl in Dortmund losgewesen wäre?

Former tennis world No. 1 Naomi Osaka wins first title since 2021 Australian Open

Getty Images Four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka won the L'Open 35 de Saint-Malo in France on Sunday, which marked her first title since the 2021 Australian Open, and the first one since becoming a mom in July 2023.The former world No. 1 lifted the trophy with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Kaja Juvan, celebrating what also happened to be her first title on a clay surface at any level. "Kinda ironic to win my first trophy back on the surface that I thought was my worst," Osaka wrote on social media. "That's one of my favorite things about life though, there's always room to grow and evolve. Thanks to everyone accompanying me on this journey, I know it's turbulent but it's also really fun and I'm grateful." This was a WTA 125 tournament, which is designated as Challenger event and […]

Fantasy Baseball Week 7 Preview: Two-start pitcher rankings feature Zac Gallen, Sandy Alcantara

Every weekend, Scott White ranks the two-start pitchers for the upcoming scoring period and then categorizes them by how usable they are. The names depicted here are highly speculative and subject to change. One of the most common ways they change is with the addition of a spot starter when a team is scheduled to play six games in a row. It doesn't always happen, but it happens often enough that I'm taking the extra step this year of pointing out which of the two-start pitchers is scheduled for Tuesday and Sunday in the upcoming scoring period since they're the most likely to lose out in such a scenario. Below are the two-start pitchers for Fantasy Week 7 (May 5-11), with the most questionable (Tuesday/Sunday in a seven-game week) being Chris Sale, Seth Lugo, Zac Gallen, Tony Gonsolin, Andrew Abbott and […]

Warriors coach Steve Kerr hints at lineup adjustments for Game 7 vs. Rockets: ‘Finding the right combinations’

Imagn Images Golden State Warriors center Kevon Looney will likely be in the rotation in Game 7 against the Houston Rockets on Sunday, coach Steve Kerr told reporters Saturday. It is possible that forward Jonathan Kuminga will get another shot, too.For Looney, the job is simple: Screen shooters open and battle with Steven Adams on the inside. Adams gave the Rockets 31 almost flawless minutes in Game 6 and, when he has shared the court with fellow big man Alperen Sengun, they've been dominant on the boards."I trust Loon implicitly, based on being together for 10 years, seeing him perform in so many of these big games," Kerr said. "So I would expect Loon to play more than he did last night."The Warriors typically try to play traditional bigs like Adams off the floor, and they might have done this […]

Casper Ruud beats Jack Draper to win Madrid Open, his first ATP 1,000 title

After two hours and 28 minutes on the court in the Spanish capital, Casper Ruud smashed a forehand winner up the line to move within one point of the Madrid Open title and let out an extended roar of effort and delight. One point later, another forehand in the same direction cannoned off Jack Draper’s racket, and Ruud had his first-ever ATP 1,000 title.AdvertisementThe Norwegian beat Draper 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 to crown a week in which the tennis fire he said he had been missing truly returned, as much as it ever does for one of the coolest players on the ATP Tour. Ruud turned the Madrid Open back into a clay-court tournament just as Draper looked set to win it by disregarding what was under foot entirely, absorbing the British player’s barrage of incendiary groundstrokes and spreading him across […]

WATCH: Jackson Holliday records first multi-home run game, youngest Oriole to do so since Manny Machado

Imagn Images Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday recorded his first career multi-home run game on Sunday, launching two solo shots against the Kansas City Royals (GameTracker). In turn, Holliday (21) became the fourth-youngest Oriole to accomplish the feat -- with only Manny Machado (20), Boog Powell (20), and Dick Kokos (21 but younger) besting him in that respect.Holliday entered Sunday hitting .250/.323/.357 (101 OPS+) with two home runs and two stolen bases in his first 27 games. Those marks have been lifted by a recent hot streak. Even prior to Sunday's milestone performance, he hit .297/.422/.378 over his last 14 games. Whether or not those gains are the product of a selective endpoint or the sign of a young player coming into their own is to be seen. Coming into last spring, Holliday was considered to be the top […]
