Im Niedersachsen-Derby gegen Rasta Vechta gewannen die Oldenburger mit 91:75 (46:38). Und holten sich damit auch den direkten Vergleich, der wichtig werden kann, sollten die Tabellen-Nachbarn nach Ende der Hauptrunde gleichauf sein.

Dabei verpasste der Ami im Wettwerfen mit Oldenburgs Justin Jaworksi (25/19 Punkte) den Saisonrekord des Bonners Darius McGhee (25) nur um zwei Zähler!

Doch die One-Man-Show spielte den Oldenburgern in die Karten. Drijencic: „Randolph hat 28 Würfe nehmen müssen, was seine Mitspieler dann irgendwie kaltgestellt hat.“

Warum es trotz der Randolph-Gala für Vechta nicht zum Sieg reichte, begründete Trainer Martin Schiller (43) dagegen anders: „Einer der westlichen Gründe dafür, dass wir heute verloren haben, war, dass wir gegen die offensiv am besten reboundende Mannschaft der Liga unseren besten Rebounder nicht dabeihatten. Dass Jayden Gardner gefehlt hat, hat uns weh getan.“

MBC wirft Bayern-Frust weg!

Der Syntainics MBC warf sich nach dem abgeschmetterten Protest gegen die Niederlage bei den Bayern (88:90) und einer 62:90-Klatsche bei Alba Berlin in der Stadthalle Weißenfels gegen Verfolger Veolia Towers Hamburg den Frust von der Seele: 102:81!

„Bei uns gab es eine Menge Wut, die mussten wir herauslassen“, sagte der effektivste Weißenfelser Charles Callison (30/20 Punkte, 9 Assists) bei Dyn. „Wir kommen ans Ende der Saison. Die Körper sind müde. Daher müssen wir unser Bestes geben, mit so viel Energie spielen, wie wir können, und mit der größten Dringlichkeit. Ich denke, das haben wir rund 30 Minuten getan.“

Das reichte gegen schwächelnde Hamburger, die nur 7 von 31 Dreiern versenkten (22,6 Prozent). Bester Turm war Jaizec Lottie (27), dem gegen seinen Ex-Trainer aus Rigaer Zeiten Janis Gailitis (40) mit 19 Punkten eine Saisonbestleistung gelang.

Nach der dritten Klatsche in Folge müssen die Hamburger jetzt sogar um die Play-Ins bangen. Trainer Benka Barloschky (37): „Unsere Leistung in der ersten Halbzeit war nicht gut genug. Der MBC hat einfach qualitativ besser gespielt an beiden Enden des Feldes. In der zweiten Halbzeit haben wir alles versucht und noch einmal alles in die Waagschale geworfen. Aber es ist natürlich unglaublich schwer, so ein Defizit auswärts dann noch aufzuholen.“
