Warum es trotz der Randolph-Gala für Vechta nicht zum Sieg reichte, begründete Trainer Martin Schiller (43) dagegen anders: „Einer der westlichen Gründe dafür, dass wir heute verloren haben, war, dass wir gegen die offensiv am besten reboundende Mannschaft der Liga unseren besten Rebounder nicht dabeihatten. Dass Jayden Gardner gefehlt hat, hat uns weh getan.“

Der MBC hat einfach qualitativ besser gespielt an beiden Enden des Feldes. In der zweiten Halbzeit haben wir alles versucht und noch einmal alles in die Waagschale geworfen. Aber es ist natürlich unglaublich schwer, so ein Defizit auswärts dann noch aufzuholen.“
