Třicetiletý útočník Oliver Bjorkstrand z Tampy Bay ani nezasáhl do play off, protože se podrobil operaci poté, co trpěl kompartment syndromem. Zákrok mu zřejmě zachránil kariéru. O Stanleyův pohár nadále bojují brankář Frederik Andersen z Caroliny a útočníci Nikolaj Ehlers z Winnipegu a Lars Eller z Washingtonu, Jonas Roendbjerg je v širším kádru Vegas.

Devětadvacetiletý Olesen přišel do Motoru loni ze švédského Oskarshamnu a nasbíral v extralize v 58 zápasech včetně play off 34 bodů za 17 branek a 17 asistencí. Na mistrovství světa se představí popáté a nechyběl ani loni v Praze. Představil se také při dánské premiéře na olympijských hrách v Pekingu v roce 2022, kde bylo i dalších 13 hráčů ze současného kádru.

Obránce Oliver Lauridsen z TPS Turku sehrál 16 duelů za Philadelphii, útočník Patrick Russell z Linköpingu dostal příležitost v 59 zápasech za Edmonton, Nicklas Jensen z Rapperswilu-Jona nastoupil v 31 utkáních za Vancouver a New York Rangers, Alexander True ze švédského MoDo Hockey má na kontě 27 utkání za San Jose a Seattle a další hráč do ofenzivy Joachim Blichfeld z Rögle za dvě sezony sehrál za San Jose osm zápasů. Dvacetiletého útočníka Oskara Fiskera Moelgaarda ze švédského HV 71 draftoval předloni ve 2. kole na 52. pozici Seattle.

Dánové vstoupí turnaje v pátek od 20:20 proti Spojeným státům americkým a další duely v základní skupině B v Herningu sehrají se Švýcarskem, Českem, Kazachstánem, Maďarsko, Norskem a Německem.
