Der schlimme Trainingsunfall bei Jan Ullrich (51). Jetzt gibt es neue Details, wie es dazu kommen konnte und wie schlimm es war.
Nach Informationen von SPORT BILD trainierte die Radsport-Legende am Freitagnachmittag allein auf dem Fahrrad, in einer Einheit im Schwarzwald wollte er mehrere Kilometer abspulen. Als er aber in seiner Heimatstadt Merdingen (rund 2600 Einwohner) unterwegs war, nahm ihm aber ein Autofahrer die Vorfahrt. Ullrich stürzte schwer, musste ins Krankenhaus. Zuerst berichtete „Eurosport“ von dem Vorfall.
[–>Inzwischen ist klar, welche Verletzungen Jan Ullrich bei dem Unfall davongetragen hat: Die Rad-Legende brach sich das linke Schlüsselbein, dazu drei Rippen. Eine soll sich sogar leicht in einen Lungenflügel gebohrt haben. Den Umständen entsprechend geht es ihm aber gut.
Aktuell liegt Ullrich noch im Krankenhaus, wegen des Bruchs an der Schulter muss er operiert werden. Bei dem Eingriff soll dann das Schlüsselbein geschraubt werden. Wann er die Klinik wieder verlassen kann, ist aktuell unklar.
Aber: Das für das kommende Wochenende geplante Radsport-Festival „Jan Ullrich Cycling Festival“ in Bad Dürrheim soll trotz des Unfalls stattfinden. Zu dem zweitägigen Event werden viele ehemalige Rad-Stars und Ex-Kollegen erwartet, unter anderem ist der Besuch von Lance Armstrong (53), Bradley Wiggins (45) und Simon Geschke (39) geplant.

Über das Ereignis am 17. und 18. Mai sagte Ullrich vor wenigen Tagen in BILD: „Ich bin stolz und freue mich wahnsinnig. Wir wollen die Fans mit den Legenden zusammenbringen, Werbung für den Radsport machen, etwas für die Allgemeinheit und den Nachwuchs tun. Deshalb dürfen Kinder bis 15 Jahre auch kostenlos mitfahren. Wenn es gut angenommen wird, kann es eine langfristige Sache werden.“
Und: „Dass es so gekommen ist, dass ich noch eine Chance bekommen habe – das ist wunderschön. Vor allem, dass ich meine Identität zurück habe. Die hatte ich viele, viele Jahre verloren. Jetzt bin ich wieder da unterwegs, wo ich mich wohlfühle – im Radsport.“
