The New York Giants can brag until the end of time that they are the only NFL franchise that beat Tom Brady on the Super Bowl twice, both with Eli Manning as their quarterback.
That does not mean that the Giants feel bad for Brady, as the greatest quarterback of all time was a big part of the intense rivalry between New York and New England.

The feeling could me mutual, as the GOAT joked about the fact that he still has PTSD from some of those blitzes in the 2007 Super Bowl, plays that were called by then defensive coordinator for the Giants Steve Spagnuolo – now with the Kansas City Chiefs -. “He’s been the bane of my existence,” Brady added.

The New York Giants selected traded up to select former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, with the hope that the flashy player can become a special talent that can take the Big Apple team to new heights.
“I feel like it’s just a bunch of great competitors who really see it the same way, and I can’t wait to go out there and compete and do all that I can to make the team better,” said Dart on Draft night, as he seemed excited to join a quarterback locker room that includes one of his favorite players in Russell Wilson.
However, Jaxson did have some major praise for Tom Brady during a recent darts game organized by the Giants. During the challenge, Dart was asked if there’s someone he models his game after and his response migh rub some New York fans the wrong way. “I think there’s a few guys. Brett Favre was one early on that I watched, I liked a lot. I like Josh Allen. I think everybody wants to be like Tom Brady, so.”
Dart has never been on the bench before
Jaxson Dart is used to starting games, and that could change as his new role with the New York Giants includes being a backup or even a third string option at quarterback, since the Big Apple team already have Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston on their roster.
“I’ve never sat on the bench before,” Dart said before the Draft. “So that would definitely be an adjustment early on, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all. I think it’s something that you can go into a situation and learn as much as you can. A lot of times when you’re in that situation or playing behind a veteran quarterback who’s had a ton of success and just knows a ton about the game. So you’ve got to be a sponge,” the young quarterback said.
The Giants head coach Brian Daboll reiterated who does he see as a starter. “Russ will be our starter, and that’s how it’ll be once we get started here in the spring. Look, the process of developing a quarterback is just that. So, we’re going to do everything we can to develop (Dart) and bring him along.”
