Vorbild Elversberg – Fußball-Sponsor will Handball-Klub nach oben bringen

Die SV Elversberg spielt kommende Saison womöglich sensationell in der Fußball-Bundesliga. Jetzt schickt sich auch ein Handballklub aus dem saarländischen Saarlouis, nur 40 Kilometer westlich von Elversberg an, einen ähnlichen Weg zu gehen.

Die HG Saarlouis, ehemaliger Zweitligist und seit 2018 in den Niederungen der 3. Liga verschwunden, schnappte sich bereits Markus Baur (54), den Weltmeister von 2007, als Sportdirektor. Er kündigte bereits an: „Ich möchte dabei auch ganz besonders den jungen saarländischen Handball-Talenten vermitteln, dass sie im Saarland bleiben können, weil es auch hier bald wieder die Chance geben wird, Bundesliga zu spielen.“

Keine leeren Worte. Denn mit dem Pharmaunternehmen Ursapharm mit Sitz in Saarbrücken stieg nun ein neuer millionenschwerer Hauptsponsor ein, der sich langfristig für die Weiterentwicklung des Vereins und des Handballsports in der Region engagieren will.

Boris Röder, Leiter der Unternehmenskommunikation von Ursapharm, betonte bei der Vorstellung: „Die Partnerschaft mit der HG Saarlouis ist für uns mehr als nur ein Sponsoring – sie ist ein klares Bekenntnis zur Region, zum Teamgeist und zu gemeinsamen Werten. Wir freuen uns auf eine starke Zusammenarbeit auf und neben dem Spielfeld.“

Schon in der nächsten Saison will der Klub, der unter anderem Nationalspieler Marko Grgic hervorbrachte, um den Aufstieg in die 2. Liga spielen.

[–>Das Pharma-Unternehmen ist seit Jahren Großsponsor bei der SV Elversberg und kaufte auch die Namensrechte am Stadion. Geschäftsführer Frank Holzer war ein ehemaliger Bundesliga-Fußballer.

Nun hat er offenbar auch Gefallen am saarländischen Handball gefunden.
