Upřímně, jde se ale vyhecovat proti Maďarsku?
Tak hlavně, když vedete, ještě nahrajete, nestřílíte z každé pozice. Tolik se netlačíte do brány, oni vás nechají hrát okolo a předbrankový prostor si docela pokrývali. Přesto tam nějaké šance byly.
Asi je v takových zápasech velký rozdíl mezi narvanou arénou v Praze a tady poloprázdnou v Herningu, že?
Ano, obrovský rozdíl. Lidi v Praze byli právě na tyto zápasy úplně klíčoví k tomu, abyste to hrál jednoduše. Byla tam energie a chtíč dát z každé situace gól nebo otočit zápas, když se nevyvíjel dobře. To byla velká pomoc. Tam když jste šli na zápas, bylo 17 tisíc v hale, dalších pět okolo a energie z toho šla obrovská.
Nad čím hokejista přemýšlí, když bezpečně vede? Nad zdravím?
Ne, to ne. Soustředíte se na každé střídání a chcete dát gól, akorát víte, že někdy, když můžete vystřelit, tak to nahrajete. Chcete to udělat hezčí i pro těch pár lidí, co tam je. Ale někdy je to na škodu.
Máte čtyři výhry ze čtyř zápasů…
… hlavně proti Maďarům to bylo relativně bez nějakých nervů. Musíme se připravit na další zápas, konec té skupiny bude náročný.
V sobotu vás ale čeká Kazachstán.
Tam je dost kluků z Astany z KHL, takže to nebude úplně lehký soupeř. Měli bychom předvést lepší výkon, kterým se chceme potom prezentovat v důležitých zápasech. Ne aby to bylo nějak lehkovážné, nesmí tam být tolik ztrát. Top týmy nás za tohle potrestají.
MS v hokeji 2025
88. ročník mistrovství světa v hokeji je na programu v termínu od 9. do 25. května 2025. Hostí jej Švédsko a Dánsko, konkrétně města Stockholm a Herning.
Pak přijde závěr proti Německu a Spojeným státům. Je to před play off ideální?
Je to možné, ale já se zase těmito věcmi nezabývám. Je to o našem přístupu, abychom se my sami chtěli zlepšovat a věděli, že to je důležité pro budoucnost turnaje.
V sobotu odehraje stý zápas na mistrovství světa.
Je to krásné číslo, o kterém se mi ani nesnilo, nikdy jsem nad tím nepřemýšlel, ale upřímně se čísly nechci teď ani zabývat. Je tu nějaký týmový úspěch, který bych zase rád zažil, a osobní čísla možná ocením někdy později. Teď se soustředím na můj výkon a výkon týmu. Jsem rád, že tady pořád můžu být a hrát. Každé to mistrovství mě neskutečně baví.
