Eine ganz andere Karte sieht nach 15 Minuten Bietigheims Fynn-Luca Nicolaus – nämlich glatt Rot: Lemgos Niels Versteijnen steigt hoch, Nicolaus kommt zu spät, räumt Versteijnen in der Luft ab. Der Niederländer fällt hart auf den Rücken. Die Schiris gehen auf Nummer sicher, schauen sich die Szene nochmal auf Video an – und haben keine andere Wahl als Nicolaus mit Rot unter die Dusche zu schicken (15.).

Als der „Rote Nicolaus“ die Platte verlässt, gibt’s noch ein Shakehands mit Versteijnen, tolle Szene, typisch Handball.
Doch ohne den Rückraumspieler erfolgt jetzt ein Bruch im Bietigheimer Spiel. Bis zum Ende der Halbzeit macht die Truppe von Coach Iker Romero nur noch drei Tore. Und so wird aus einem 7:5 ein 15:8 für Lemgo nach 30 Minuten.

Die lassen auch in der 2. Hälfte nichts mehr anbrennen. Trotzdem ist das TBV-Spiel teilweise etwas schleppend. Lemgos Coach Kehrmann deshalb nach 50 Minuten ganz cool in einer Auszeit: „Wir sind sieben Tore vorn. Genießt das!“ Macht sein Team, schraubt das Ergebnis innerhalb von wenigen Minuten 23:16 auf 32:20.
Lemgos überragender Torhüter Urh Kastelic (45 Prozent Paraden) verrät danach auf Dyn sein Geheimnis: „Heute ist meine kleine Tochter das erste Mal zum Spiel gekommen, sie ist elf Monate alt. Es war nicht sicher, ob meine Frau sie mitbringt. Und dann habe ich sie auf der Tribüne gesehen. Das ist auch wichtig für den Kopf. Dann ist alles etwas einfacher.“
