Laut einer aktuellen Analyse der amerikanischen „Human Performance Company“ Whoop ist der Superstar biologisch gesehen erst 28,9 Jahre alt. Das ergab eine Untersuchung mithilfe von Fitness-Trackern der Firma, in deren Podcast Ronaldo kürzlich zu Gast war.

Selbst Ronaldo konnte es kaum fassen: „Ich glaube nicht, dass es so gut ist“, sagte er lachend. Und weiter: „Das bedeutet, dass ich noch zehn Jahre spielen kann. Wenn man jung ist, denkt man, man wird ewig leben, dass man immer stark bleiben wird, dass man unzerstörbar ist. Mit 30 ist es nicht mehr dasselbe wie mit 25, besonders im Fußball. Aber ich fühle mich immer noch gut, ich lege viel mehr Wert auf Erholung und Schlaf als früher.“
Doch überraschend ist es nicht: Der Ausnahmeathlet ist bekannt für sein knallhartes Trainingspensum und seinen Lebensstil, der komplett auf Leistung getrimmt ist. Alkohol? Fehlanzeige. Zucker? Tabu. Dafür tägliches Training, Schlaftracking, Eisbäder und Hightech-Ernährung.
Während andere Fußballer mit 40 längst ihre Karriere beendet haben, stürmt Ronaldo noch für Al-Nassr in Saudi-Arabien. Der fünffache Ballon-d’Or-Gewinner hat sich ein klares Ziel gesetzt: 1.000 Tore, bevor er seine Schuhe an den Nagel hängt. Aktuell steht er bei 940 Treffern.
Noch ist unklar, wie es nach dieser Saison weitergeht. Sein Vertrag bei Al-Nassr läuft im Sommer aus – eine Verlängerung ist noch nicht fix, Gerüchte um einen möglichen Wechsel halten sich hartnäckig. Es gibt Spekulationen über die MLS, einen brasilianischen Verein für eine Teilnahme an der Klub-WM oder sogar ein Karriereende in Portugal.
