Der deutsche Nationalspieler rastete bei der Niederlage im Pokal-Finale gegen den FC Barcelona am 26. April völlig aus (2:3 n.V.). In der Nachspielzeit hatte Schiri Burgos Bengoetxea (39) ein vermeintliches Stürmer-Foul von Kylian Mbappé (26) gepfiffen.
Rüdiger warf aus Wut darüber von der Seitenlinie einen Gegenstand in Richtung des Unparteiischen. Als wäre das nicht genug gewesen, pöbelte Rüdiger eine Schimpftirade auf Deutsch hinterher.
Mehrere Mitspieler und Team-Offizielle mussten ihn zurückhalten. Die Quittung: Rot und eine fette Sperre!

Nach der Begegnung wurde über eine Sanktion von vier bis zwölf Spielen spekuliert – am Ende wurden es sechs Partien. Das war für Real aber nicht akzeptabel, die prompt vor das Verbandsgericht zogen.
Die spanische Sportzeitung „AS“ berichtet nun: Der Einspruch wurde abgelehnt, Rüdiger muss seine Sechs-Spiele-Sperre wie geplant absitzen.
Der Verteidiger nutzte die Zwangspause aber clever: Er ließ sich am Knie operieren – was ohnehin nötig war. Somit hat die Strafe erst in der kommenden Saison Konsequenzen für ihn.
[–>Für sein Vergehen hagelte es Kritik aus Deutschland. U.a. sorgte der Rüpel-Auftritt in seiner Heimat für mächtig Wirbel. Rüdiger gab sich reumütig, nannte sein Verhalten auf Social Media einen „großen Fehler“. Diese Entschuldigung reichte aber nicht jedem.
Ex-Profi Mario Basler knallhart: Rüdiger sei „nicht mehr tragbar für die Nationalmannschaft!“ – er forderte vom DFB: „Die müssen den rausschmeißen.“
Sky-Experte Didi Hamann ist ebenfalls der Meinung, „dass ihn der DFB suspendieren sollte“.
Trotz des Skandals blieb Rüdiger in Deutschland straffrei. Ein Gespräch mit Rudi Völler und Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann (37) gab es allerdings.
Völler sagte: „Wir haben länger über die Situation gesprochen.“ Weitere Konsequenzen vom DFB blieben aus.
Rüdigers Strafe in der spanischen La Liga bleibt aber bestehen.
