The world of content creation is at a level never seen before in terms of influence. The top streamers are taken into account for all kinds of events, and their channels have become integrated as places to promote high-level events.

We can see this directly in IShowSpeed’s latest stream, in which Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, spent some time with the content creator to talk about the Club World Cup that will begin on June 14, and, to the streamer’s surprise, revealed that it could feature Cristiano Ronaldo.

Infantino surprises IShowSpeed with this news

The streamer is known for his love of the Portuguese striker. IShowSpeed started his career inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo’s mentality, and is now one of the biggest content creators in the world. Whenever he can, he tries to watch him play live, and the times he has coincided with him, he has shown his affection.

5/22/25: Top 5 Plays of the Day

A few months ago we were surprised that Cristiano joined Speed’s ‘community’ on X, which could mean a collaboration, this has not happened, but it is something that can still happen, as remember that the Portuguese has his own YouTube channel.

However, Gianni Infantino surprised the streamer with this revelation about the Club World Cup, in which he warned him that, although Al-Nassr is not there, Ronaldo could be: “He could play for one of the Club World Cup teams as well.”

Speed couldn’t believe it, and asked again, to which the president reiterated his response, and left him with a detail: “Yes, Cristiano Ronaldo could play in the Club World Cup, there are negotiations with some teams.”

Obviously, Infantino was referring to the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo, taking advantage of the new transfer window created by FIFA, could sign for one of the teams in the tournament, playing for them. Obviously, he has not confirmed anything, it is all conjecture, but IShowSpeed’s happy face already shows that the mere possibility has excited him.

IShowSpeed keeps the ball for the start of the tournament

But Infantino’s visit was not only to talk to Speed and explain to him that Ronaldo can play. The FIFA president’s idea, logically, is to make the World Cup, which will be played in the United States, known to the country’s public.

In addition to being with Speed live, he wanted to give him the ball with which the opening kick of the tournament will be made, which Speed will have at home until the tournament begins, and in fact, he will be in charge of taking it to the stadium.

He has also brought the World Cup trophy, which he showed in all its splendour in the live broadcast, opening it with the key. Which team will be the first to lift the new World Cup?

Switching lockers and shaving mustaches, Christian Walker is trying anything to get spark

HOUSTON — Lockers line both sides of the Houston Astros’ home clubhouse at Daikin Park. The last one on the right is now empty, cleared of clothes, cleats, camouflage Crocs and the giant National League Gold Glove trophy that sat on a middle shelf.Christian Walker dressed, dwelled and debriefed there for the first 49 games of his Astros tenure. He sported a sub-.200 batting average and struck out 30.6 percent of the time across a stretch he would rather forget, so changing something only seemed logical.AdvertisementAccording to Walker, conversations “outside of me” conceived the idea to switch lockers. Crushing outs that carried exit velocities of 106.0 and 104.5 mph during the team’s trip to Tampa Bay only convinced Walker to “switch something up.” That Walker finished the entire seven-game road trip 4-for-27 furthered the thought.“That wasn’t me asking for it,” […]

Shohei Ohtani injury update: Dodgers manager sets ‘realistic expectation’ for pitching debut ahead of live BP

Getty Images Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani will soon take the next major step toward his eventual return to the mound. Ohtani on Sunday will pitch live batting practice at Citi Field, which means he'll be facing hitters for the first time since late in the 2023 season. Ohtani had originally been slated to throw BP on Saturday, but Ohtani and the Dodgers opted to push back the session after Friday's series opener against the New York Mets was delayed by rain and then went 13 innings, manager Dave Roberts told reporters. During Saturday night's broadcast (LAD-NYM GameTracker), Roberts also told Ken Rosenthal that the "realistic expectation is after the break" for Ohtani's eventual return to the rotation. In spring training, Roberts said a May return was in play, so perhaps that suggests a return early in the second half […]

Alex Bregman is injured but Rafael Devers will remain at DH. Who will play third for Boston?

BOSTON — Alex Bregman is on the injured list for the foreseeable future with a right quad strain. His absence is not only a significant blow to the Boston Red Sox lineup, but they now must figure out who plays third base in Bregman’s stead.
