Xabi Alonso wird neuer Trainer des spanischen Fußball-Giganten. Ein Leverkusen-Spieler erklärt jetzt, wie der Spanier tickt und welchen Führungsstil er jetzt auch beim LaLiga-Klub leben wird.
Aleix Garcia (27) spielte in der vergangenen Saison unter Alonso in Leverkusen, gilt als Vertrauter seines spanischen Landsmanns. In einem Interview mit dem spanischen Radiosender „Cadena SER“ packt er über den Hoffnungsträger der „Königlichen“ aus.
Garcia über Alonso: „Das Schreien, Schimpfen und die Strafen werden bleiben“
Die spannende Frage: Wie lässt Alonso in der kommenden Saison spielen? Überträgt er sein Erfolgsrezept aus Leverkusens Meister-Saison auf Madrid?
[–>Garcia: „Ehrlich gesagt, ich glaube nicht, dass er sich schon entschieden hat. Er wird jetzt die Spielerprofile analysieren und dann schauen, ob dieses System zu ihnen passt.“
Der Leverkusen-Star ist sich aber sicher, dass Alonso nicht stur an einem System festhalten wird, sondern dieses sofort anpassen werde, wenn er bemerkt, dass es in Madrid nicht so läuft, wie er es sich vorgestellt hat.
Alonso ist bekannt für seine Mischung aus Zugänglichkeit und Autorität. „Er hat eine besondere Verbindung zu den Spielern, aber wenn er schreien muss, tut er es“, lobt Garcia. Doch im Training versteht Alonso keinen Spaß. „Er mag es nicht, Dinge ins Lächerliche zu ziehen. Training ist Arbeitszeit“, so der spanische Nationalspieler der Werkself.

Pünktlichkeit ist für Alonso essenziell. „Wir hatten wichtige Spieler, die zu spät kamen, und er ließ sie auf der Bank“, verrät Garcia. Ob dies auch bei Stars wie Kylian Mbappé oder Vinicius Jr. funktioniert? „Ich weiß nicht, wie Xabi das handhaben wird. Es wird schwierig für ihn. Sicher ist aber: Das Schreien, Schimpfen und die Strafen werden bleiben.“
Bekommen vor allem die Superstars jetzt die harte Hand von Alonso zu spüren? Ein Schwerpunkt vom Meister-Trainer ist die Defensiv-Arbeit – und da müssen alle helfen. „Wenn Mbappé sich einen Lauf spart, weiß ich nicht, wie Xabi das handhabt, aber er wird es definitiv nach dem Spiel ansprechen. Er will, dass alle Spieler laufen und in der Verteidigung mitarbeiten“, warnt Garcia.
