G-E-R-E-T-T-E-T! Heidenheim hat sich im letzten Pflichtspiel der Saison das dritte Jahr Bundesliga in Folge gesichert: 2:1 im Relegationsrückspiel beim Zweitliga-Dritten Elversberg (Hinspiel 2:2).
Das Zittern ist vorbei. „BescHeidenheim“ atmet auf.
Im September stand der Klub nach zwei Spieltagen noch an der Bundesliga-Tabellenspitze und freute sich auf die Gruppenphase der Conference League. Knapp neun Monate später geht es darum, die Fehler der Saison nicht zu wiederholen. Drei Themen stehen im Vordergrund:
► Klare Transferziele
Zwar blockten Trainer Frank Schmidt (51) und Vorstandsboss Holger Sanwald (58) zuletzt viele Planungs-Gespräche ab, um zunächst mit voller Kraft um den Klassenerhalt zu kämpfen.
Aber klar ist: In der Offensive wird es Verstärkungen geben (müssen). Kein Angreifer traf zweistellig diese Saison (Pieringer und Honsak mit je acht Toren). Niemand konnte die dominante Rolle von Sturm-Anführer Tim Kleindienst (29) füllen, der für sieben Mio. Euro nach Gladbach ging.
Neuer Abwehrboss: Hier kommt Tah bei den Bayern an
Geprüft wird auch, ob eine Neu-Aufstellung im Tor Sinn macht – auch wenn Keeper Kevin Müller (34) im Januar bis 2027 verlängerte.
Dazu droht ein Abgang von Rechtsverteidiger Omar Traoré (27), für den Ersatz hermüsste.
Technisch versierte Profis wie Ulm-Zugang Leo Scienza (26) hatten es diese Saison schwer. Ob der Brasilianer, der mit seinem Last-Minute-Tor in Elversberg zum Relegations-Helden wurde, bleibt, ist noch offen. Der FCH ist zwar sein erster Ansprechpartner und er kann sich auch einen Verbleib vorstellen. Möglich aber, dass es trotz Vertrag bis 2027 zu einem vorzeitigen Abschied kommt.
► Klare Aufstellungen
Durch die erstmalige Europapokal-Teilnahme musste Schmidt zu Saisonbeginn viel rotieren. Lange mit Erfolg, Heidenheim überstand die Gruppenphase der Conference League. Doch rund um den Absturz auf Platz 18 im März sollen die Spieler ihm zurückgemeldet haben, dass sie nicht mehr alle Startelf-Entscheidungen verstanden haben.
[–>Schmidt ließ bereits durchblicken, dass er die Konkurrenz-Situation auch aus seiner Sicht nicht immer gut gemanagt hat. Fest steht: Zur neuen Saison wird es wieder mehr auf Trainingsleistung ankommen.
► Bundesliga-Euphorie nutzen
Durch den Klassenerhalt kann der FCH den Stadion-Ausbau mit mehr Rückenwind angehen. Die Erweiterung der Voith-Arena von 15 000 auf 25 000 durch einen Extra-Rang auf drei Tribünen steht im Raum.
Der Bedarf ist da: Die Zahl der Mitglieder vervierfachte sich in zwei Erstliga-Jahren von circa 3000 auf rund 12 000.
