Jaguar und Porsche jubeln – Dämpfer für Nissan!

Der Neuseeländer Nick Cassidy holt beim Sonntagsrennen der Formel E in Shanghai den Sieg von der Pole-Position aus. Wegen schwierigen Bedingungen muss das Rennen immer wieder verschoben werden – doch die nasse Strecke macht dem Jaguar-Piloten nichts aus. Er dominiert das Feld und kommt mit deutlichem Vorsprung ins Ziel.

Der deutsche Titelverteidiger Pascal Wehrlein holt sich in dem eher unspektakulären Rennen vor seinem Teamkollegen Antonio Felix da Costa den zweiten Platz. Eine komplette Kehrtwende, nachdem Porsche am Samstag keine Punkte erzielen konnte.

[–>Der Gesamtführende Oliver Rowland bleibt hingegen am Sonntag ohne Punkte – damit rückt Wehrlein in der Gesamtwertung etwas näher an den Briten heran. Bitter: Der Sieger des Samstagrennens, Maximilian Günther (DS Penske), kann das Rennen nach einem technischen Problem nicht beenden.

Nick Cassidy ganz emotional nach dem Rennen: „Das ist wirklich ein riesiges Highlight für das Team und mich. Ich habe so lange auf diesen Sieg gewartet, meine Eltern sind hier, aus Neuseeland hergekommen, das bedeutet mir viel.“

Wehrlein: „Das waren natürlich schwierige Bedingungen, vor allem am Anfang. Ich bin persönlich sehr glücklich über das Resultat. Ich hatte das erste Mal das Gefühl, dass wir im Nassen richtig da sind und performen. Wir geben weiter alles auch für die Team-Meisterschaft, in der Fahrermeisterschaft ist der Abstand einfach sehr groß.“

Da Costa: „Ich hatte mit den Hinterreifen Probleme und ich war wirklich langsam. Toll, dass es trotzdem für das Podium gereicht hat.“

Das nächste Rennen findet in drei Wochen statt: Am 21. Juni ist die Elektroserie zu Gast in Jakarta – dort findet das letzte Einzelrennen der Saison statt. Der Free-TV-Sender DF1 zeigt wie immer das Qualifying und das Rennen.
