Es war nur eine einfache Trainingsübung – und doch wurde sie für Jonathan Tah zu seinem Alonso-Moment!
In einem sehr persönlichen Text für „Players’ Tribune“ berichtet Nationalspieler und Bayern-Neuzugang Tah über seinen Ex-Trainer Xabi Alonso. Besonders eine Szene aus dem Training bleibt ihm unvergessen.
[–>„Es ging um lange Bälle hinter die Abwehr auf unsere Außenverteidiger“, erinnert sich Tah. „Ich dachte ehrlich, ich hätte gerade einen ziemlich guten Pass gespielt, aber er meinte: Der Ball muss … schärfer sein.“ Alonso stoppte die Übung, schaute Tah an und sagte: „Nein, Jona, nicht so.“
Was dann passierte, beschreibt Tah als Schock. Alonso nahm den Ball, drehte sich – und spielte einen Diagonalpass quer über den Platz. Punktgenau, mit einer unfassbaren Schärfe und Präzision. Der Ball landete auf dem Fuß des Flügelspielers. Ohne dass dieser abbremsen musste. „Jeder Amateur hätte diesen Ball annehmen können“, sagt Tah.
„Er sah uns an und sagte: … das meine ich mit schärfer“, so der Ex-Leverkusener. „Wir waren alle fassungslos. Keiner von uns hätte machen können, was Xabi konnte.“
Für Tah war dieser Pass nicht nur technisch perfekt – er war ein Statement. Ein Beweis dafür, dass Alonso nicht nur ein großer Name an der Seitenlinie war, sondern noch immer alles hatte, was ihn früher als Spieler Weltklasse machte. „Wir haben sofort gemerkt: Der Mann könnte bei uns noch locker mitspielen.“

Doch es war nicht nur dieser eine Pass. Nicht nur die Technik. Es war das Gesamtpaket. Tah beschreibt Alonso als einen Trainer mit natürlicher Autorität, einer besonderen Aura. „Man erkennt es an seiner Art zu sprechen und seinem Blick. Eine solche Aufrichtigkeit ist im Fußball selten. Man weiß, was er als Spieler geleistet hat, aber noch wichtiger ist, wie er einen als Menschen behandelt. Er flößt einem absoluten Respekt ein.“
Tah wechselt im Sommer zum FC Bayern – aber der Alonso-Moment bleibt.
