The best match of the day at the 2025 French Open took place in its secondary venue, as unranked Alexander Bublik stunned No. 5 Jack Draper with a victory in four sets. The 27-year-old, representing Kazakhstan, controlled the thrilling matchup to win 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 and advance to his first career Grand Slam quarterfinal.
Bublik could have won the match in straight sets: He took a 5-4 lead in the first set before Draper clawed back to win 7-5. But from there, Bublik controlled every part of this matchup, playing some of the best tennis of his career to dismantle Draper’s game. Everything seemed to fall his way.
In the fourth set, after going up 5-4 again, Bublik had a chance to ice a win, starting the game off strong with an ace. But Draper dug deep to take the lead and stave off Bublik’s victory. However, nerves from the young Brit seemed to catch up to him, as Draper dropped the next three points and put Bublik into position for a match point, before Bublik lost the advantage off a great rally from Draper.

The two traded advantages in the high-stakes game — the longest of the match — before Bublik was finally able to finish the job.
Bublik becomes an unlikely member of the quarterfinals, the only unranked player remaining in the men’s singles tournament. He will have a steep challenge in the next round, facing either world No. 1 Jannik Sinner or No. 17 Andrey Rublev.
Novak Djokovic earns 100th French Open win
At his 21st French Open, Novak Djokovic is still making history. The Serbian great earned his 100th French Open win on Monday with a victory over Britain’s Cameron Norrie in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-2.

With the win, the No. 6-seeded Djokovic advances to the French Open quarterfinals, where he will face German Alexander Zverev, the No. 3 seed. Zverev earned a walkover win over Dutch player Tallon Griekspoor, who retired after two sets, to advance.
For Djokovic, the unranked Norrie never really stood a chance. The Serbian started strong, defeating Norrie 6-2 in the opening set. A more competitive second set was briefly broken up by a medical stoppage as trainers attended to Norrie’s ankle. After play continued, Djokovic stayed in control to win the set 6-3.
In the third set, Djokovic made light work of Norrie, cruising to through the first few games largely uncontested. Norrie fought back to take one more game, and nearly tried to take another, before Djokovic finished him off with a 6-2 win.

Djokovic now moves on to his 19th French Open quarterfinal, making his way through the first four rounds of the tournament without dropping a set.
With his 100th victory, Djokovic hits the milestone for the first time in his career. Only Rafael Nadal, the “King of Clay,” holds more French Open wins than him. Djokovic also holds 99 wins in the Australian Open, an event that he has won a record 10 times.
