Iris Tió le dio a España otra medalla más en el Campeonato de Europa de natación artística que se está disputando en la localidad portuguesa de Funchal. La española, que ya se ha colgado otras cinco medallas en esta cita junto a Lilou Lluís y Dennis González en los dúos libre, con el equipo en la rutina libre y técnica y en el solo libre, añadió otra plata a su particular cuenta, con la segunda plaza en el solo técnico.
Al ritmo de la versión de ‘Me quedo contigo’ que interpretó Rosalía en los Premios Goya, Tió realizó un gran ejercicio, con 145.1417 puntos en elementos y 103.9500 en impresión artística, para un global de 249.0917 con el que se mantuvo en primera posición gran parte de la final. Sólo fue superada por la austriaca Vasiliki Alexandri, que se proclamó campeona de Europa, con 257.2400 puntos, gracias sobre todo a su mejor nota en elementos. El bronce fue para la alemana Klara Bleyer.
Minutos después, Dennis González fue bronce en el solo técnico masculina. Dio la décima medalla a la delegación española, cuarta en su cuenta particular tras los oros en el dúo mixto libre y en el técnico y el del equipo en rutina libre. Recibió 213,6642 puntos (111,4642 en elementos y 102,2000 en impresión artística). El oro fue para el británico Ranjuo Tomblin (234,4225) y la plata para el italiano Filippo Pelati 232.6259).
Esta tarde en la prueba acrobática en equipo; España puede firmar el pleno de podios en esta cita continental. Con la seleccionadora Andrea Fuentes al frente, tras su llegada al equipo hace nueves meses, el combinado nacional decidió disputar las 11 pruebas que componen el evento continental. Es el último test previo a la gran cita de la temporada, los Mundiales de Singapur.
