„Es wird sich nichts ändern. Al-Nassr, ja“, antwortete er nach dem Final-Sieg gegen Spanien (5:3 i.E.) laut den portugiesischen Medien „Ojogo“ und „A Bola“ in der Mixed Zone auf eine entsprechende Frage.
Nach zweieinhalb Jahren in der saudi-arabischen Hauptstadt Riad läuft der Vertrag des Stürmers in diesem Sommer aus. Aber Ronaldo hat mit Al-Nassr wohl noch etwas vor. In den ersten beiden Jahren landeten sie am Saisonende auf Platz zwei, 2025 war sogar nur Rang vier drin – mit 16 Punkten Rückstand auf Meister Al-Ittihad. Immerhin wurde er in der Saison 23/24 und 24/25 bester Torschütze der Liga. Auch nächste Saison möchte er also weiter auf Torejagd für Al-Nassr gehen.
[–>Schon vor Monaten war eine Verlängerung so gut wie sicher. Verschiedene Medien berichteten, dass er bis 2026 bleibt und 200 Mio. Euro verdienen soll. Ob er seinen Vertrag um ein Jahr oder sogar um weitere zwei Jahre verlängert, verriet er (noch) nicht.
Ronaldo sagte aber bereits am Samstag – vor dem Finale, in dem er das 938. (!) Tor in seiner Karriere schoss: „Ich habe mir vor einigen Jahren angewöhnt, von Tag zu Tag die Gegenwart zu leben und nicht zu sehr an die Zukunft zu denken. Ich habe nicht mehr viele Jahre, um zu spielen. Ich genieße den Moment. Meine Karriere und das, was ich gerade tue, sprechen für sich.“
Und weiter: „Ich kann kein genaues Datum sagen, bis zu dem ich spielen werde. Denn vielleicht stehe ich morgen auf und sage: ‚Ich möchte nicht mehr spielen, ich habe die Schnauze voll‘. Aktuell fühle ich das aber nicht so.“
Auch dank seines Trainers. Al-Nassrs Stefano Pioli (59) im Januar: „Er lebt für diese Mannschaft, er hilft, er gibt Tipps. Manchmal lasse ich ihn die Ansprache an die Mannschaft machen. Ich kann ihn einfach nicht wie alle anderen behandeln.“
