Dave Portnoy, a Caitlin Clark fan, harshly criticizes Angel Reese and Chicago Sky after losing against Fever

Even without Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, Indiana Fever did not slow down, and Angel Reese and Chicago Sky suffered a heavy blow, losing 79-52 at the United Center in Chicago.

The fans and even the team wanted to rewrite history and redeem themselves after their previous defeat to the Fever, but instead, the situation got worse.

Caitlin Clark mocks Angel Reese with fiery ref gesture

In response, Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, is not exactly known for remaining impartial in the “Clark vs. Reese” sports rivalry. A big fan of CC, he did not miss the opportunity to harshly criticize Angel and her team.

Using his official X account, formerly Twitter, Dave did not hold back and launched a harsh insult: “Holy sh*t the Chicago Sky stink.”

Despite how unfortunate-and even regrettable-some fans found the comment, many shared the view that Chicago did not do well at all.

Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky

The fact that they barely surpassed 50 points and lost by more than 20 points to Indiana shows that the Sky did not have their best night: no Chicago player scored more than 10 points.

In fact, Angel only scored four points with 2 of 7 field goals, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists. Kamilla Cardoso and Rebecca Allen led the team with only eight points each.

On the other hand, Fever shone with Kelsey Mitchell scoring 17 points, Natasha Howard adding 13, and Aliyah Boston adding 11.

Now, Chicago is preparing to put this loss behind them and face the New York Liberty on Tuesday, June 10, at the Barclays Center Brooklyn. On the same day, but at The Gateway Center Arena @ College Park, Indiana will face the Atlanta Dream.

Napheesa Collier injury update: Lynx star, WNBA MVP favorite goes off for 32 points in return

Minnesota Lynx star and WNBA MVP favorite Napheesa Collier returned to action in style on Sunday with 32 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 97-84 win over the Indiana Fever. Collier had been out since Aug. 2 due to a sprained right ankle. Collier looked a bit rusty early on, but once she found her groove the Fever had no answer for her. The Lynx won her 31 minutes by 24 points and lost the nine minutes she sat by 11. Collier's injury, which occurred during the Lynx's historic 53-point win over the Las Vegas Aces earlier this month, stirred controversy because it happened late in the third quarter with her team up by 43 points.
