Cam Ward is all business when it comes to football, and the No. 1 pick overall on the 2025 NFL Draft is eager to prove the Tennessee Titans that he can make the franchise win its first Super Bowl in their history.
The former Miami Hurricanes standout has mentioned that he felt good about the first team’s three-day minicamp, despite throwing a pair of interceptions on the final day of the sessions.

“The first one, 7-on-7, I don’t count that, it’s not real football,” Ward said with a half smile… I have to continue to move linebackers with my eyes, and really just play clean football, especially in the red zone, I am aware of that. But I’d rather do all the crazy stuff in practice so in the game I know I can get away with it,” Cam told the media.
Cam Ward gets clowned by teammate
The Tennessee Titans‘ new franchise quarterback is known for his one-track mind and his determination to win at all cost. Cam Ward has been creating a great relationship with all of his teammates, especially with wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who signed a four-year, $92 million contract with $50 million in guaranteed money back in March 2024.
Ridley posted an Instagram story after Tennessee Titans minicamp ended, and he poked fun at the rookie quarterback after beating him in a game of ping pong in the locker room. Cam lost, and he broke the paddle out of frustration for the humiliation.
“Hey, that’s what I love to see” Ridley said, pointing at the broken ping pong paddle. Then the camera pans to Ward, storming off towards the showers. “He’s got enough money though. You’ve got money! I’ve got him breaking it! Get in the shower!”. It’s an hilarious moment that shows just how much does Ward care about winning.
Ward’s confidence is at an all time high
Despite some of his early struggles during his first OTAs, Cam Ward’s confidence has not suffered a single bit. “I am growing, learning, especially being with the vets, getting our timing down,” the young quarterback said. “So, I am excited.”
As for where he is a few months before the season, Ward said he’s feeling good, and confident. When asked about his overall confidence level, he said it’s a 10. “At the end of the day, I’m a gunslinger,” Ward said. “I live by that, and I’ll always die by that”.
He went on to add that “Coach (Brian) Callahan knows the type of guy he has in the quarterback room in me, and I’m just thankful I have guys around me to help me out.” So, what’s next on tap for Ward? “Just work out, stay in the playbook, and throw the (expletive) out of the ball.”
