Travis Kelce is ready to hit the field again, and no one’s more excited than Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs‘ star tight end, who had a relatively quiet 2024 season with just three touchdowns, is gearing up for his 13th NFL season-and his chemistry with Mahomes could light things up in 2025.
After seriously considering retirement during the offseason, Kelce chose to stay, and his decision is music to his quarterback’s ears. Mahomes shared his thoughts during a press conference, and his excitement was unmistakable.
Travis Kelce shows up lean and looking different at Chiefs minicamp
“I expect Travis to be Travis,” Mahomes said confidently, standing proudly in his Chiefs gear. “Obviously, he’s going to bring it on the field. He’s coming in with a Super Bowl mindset after falling short last season. But more than anything, it’s the leadership he brings every day.”
Mahomes praised Kelce’s ability to lead by both example and voice, calling it a key piece of the team’s dynamic. And it’s no surprise-Kelce has led the team in receptions for the past three years, forming a deadly duo with Mahomes that’s fueled the Chiefs’ sustained success.
Mahomes bets big on Kelce’s leadership
Motivation is running high after a tough Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, where the Chiefs’ offense struggled in the first half. Kelce has already vowed to return in the best shape of his life, and Mahomes echoed the need to recapture their identity-especially through the air.
“I want us to start throwing deep again,” Mahomes said earlier this offseason, making it clear Kelce will be his go-to weapon in that strategy. With that painful loss still fresh, both players are locked in on revenge for 2025-and Mahomes’ determined look in red at the press conference said it all.
Fans are pumped-and rightfully so. The combination of Kelce’s experience and Mahomes’ leadership could be the perfect formula for a huge year. Kelce brings the charisma and skill, Mahomes brings the vision and fire-and together, they’re aiming not just to win, but to dominate. If things go according to plan, the next Super Bowl could be drenched in Kansas City red.

Curt Cignetti Dreamed Bigger — Now Indiana Football Is Living It
EUGENE, Ore. — When it finally ended — when the meaningless heave from Oregon quarterback Dante Moore rattled between bodies and dropped to the Autzen Stadium turf — wave upon wave of deliriously defiant Hoosiers raced toward the west end zone, toward a mob of ebullient Indiana fans that had flown across the country and were now inching ever closer to the front row, encroaching on territory long ago vacated by dejected Ducks supporters. Some of Indiana’s players promptly hoisted themselves atop the railing like a modified Lambeau Leap. Others raised their hands and pointed at familiar faces in the stands. Everyone sang, clapped and danced as the fight song blared. Indiana Hoosiers players and fans celebrate a 30-20 win over the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium. Dodgers, Brewers clash in rematch of 2018 NL Championship Series: Key matchups, prediction
By: Fabian Ardaya, Andy McCullough and Eno SarrisIt will be the self-described “Average Joes” against the team with the richest payroll in the history of the sport for the National League pennant, as the Milwaukee Brewers will look to unseat the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in a rematch of the 2018 National League Championship Series. It was the Brewers who finished with the best record in the National League this summer, with their particular dominance over the Dodgers perhaps serving as the difference between these two sides — the Brewers went 6-0 and frustrated the Dodgers en route to finishing with four more regular-season wins.AdvertisementThe Brewers will battle an attempt at history. Misery Index: Florida State is underachieving under Mike Norvell for one simple reason
The rise of Florida State as a national power under Bobby Bowden did not rely on a complicated formula. It was, quite simply, one of the most relentless recruiting machines college football has ever seen, leveraging FSU’s location near talent hotbeds in Florida and Georgia while building an environment where iconoclast personalities could thrive and be themselves. In many ways, Jimbo Fisher repeated that feat in 2013 when the Seminoles returned to national championship glory, assembling one of the most talented rosters in recent college football history.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWhile success in this sport always correlates with talent to some degree, there are realistically only 10 to 15 programs that can recruit at a truly elite level because of their natural advantages.Florida State is one of those jobs. But Mike Norvell has not been one of those coaches who can take advantage of it.When […]

Belief is in short supply at Auburn, and the Tigers are suffering as a result
AUBURN, Ala. — Even Cam Newton, perhaps the greatest college football player ever, has his limits. Back in town on the occasion of his jersey retirement, Newton spent most of Saturday night’s game against Georgia stalking the sidelines of Jordan-Hare Stadium. Megaphone in hand, Newton exhorted the crowd, berated the refs, did all he possibly could to fire up the Auburn Tigers. You got the sense that Newton — who won both a Heisman and a national championship in one single, glorious year at Auburn — would have given a whole lot to suit up for one more game. And a whole lot of the sellout crowd at Jordan-Hare would have given up a whole lot themselves to see the current model of the Tigers show even a fraction of the fire that Newton brought to this stadium in 2010. Instead, […]
