While Pro Football Focus may have knocked him down a few spots in its latest quarterback rankings, Jalen Hurts is soaring high in a new arena. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback is making waves in the publishing world with the announcement of his debut book-proving once again that he’s more than just a champion on the field.
PFF, one of football’s most respected analysis platforms, recently released its 2025 quarterback rankings. The list is topped by Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, while Hurts-fresh off a Super Bowl LIX victory-landed at fifth.
Fans were quick to question how a reigning NFL champion with 2,903 passing yards, 248 completions on 361 attempts, and 18 touchdowns didn’t rank higher. But Hurts isn’t sweating the numbers. Instead, he’s focused on a lifelong dream that’s now become a reality.

The Eagles star took to social media to unveil his first book, Better Than A Touchdown, sharing the news in an Instagram video that featured his signature calm joy and quiet pride.
“This has been a cherished dream of mine,” Hurts wrote in the caption, “and I hope it inspires young minds and readers of all ages to believe in themselves and never lose sight of their dreams.”
Set to hit stores on March 10, 2026, the book is already available for pre-order-sparking a flood of congratulatory messages from fans across the country.
A story of heart, hope, and huddles
Aimed at children, Better Than A Touchdown delivers a heartfelt message of resilience and unity. The story follows a young version of Hurts as he rallies to revive his school’s canceled football team, leaning on friendship and perseverance to bring the dream back to life.
The official synopsis captures the tone perfectly: “Better Than A Touchdown is a love letter to the power of community, being there for one another, and how a piece of good advice can change the course of a day.” It’s a message of hope from someone who knows what it means to be an underdog-even after reaching the sport’s highest peaks.
