Potencial do Flamengo

Bay FC set NWSL attendance record: 40,091 take in clash vs. Washington Spirit at MLB’s Oracle Park

Getty Images The NWSL celebrated a new attendance record on Saturday with a sellout crowd of 40,091 at MLB's Oracle Park as Bay FC hosted the Washington Spirit. It is the second attendance record that Bay FC is a part of after being part of last year's then-record attendance (35,038) at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Bay were spoilers of the marquee matchup last year during their inaugural season and are now the sole owners of the highest attended match in NWSL history. The visitors won 3-2, with goals by Kate Wiesner and Croix Bethune. "Breaking the NWSL attendance record is a historic moment that extends far beyond a single match. It represents the foundation we are building at Bay FC and the legacy we hope to leave for future generations of players and fans. By pushing boundaries today, we are shaping what women's football will look […]

Where do Saints stand at QB after Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough finish preseason? Nowhere, it seems

Before Derek Carr abruptly retired this offseason, the New Orleans Saints were already angling toward a reset at quarterback. There were rumors, after all, of a potential Carr trade, and even after new coach Kellen Moore bore witness to the veteran restructuring his contract to stay put, the overhauled staff's endorsements of Carr were tepid at best. Change was due.The new hope arrived on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft, when Moore and Co. handpicked Tyler Shough, of all prospects, to be the next potential face of the franchise. No matter that Shough was already 25 years old -- soon to be 26 now -- and fresh off a college career that ran seven -- that's right, seven -- seasons due primarily to a litany of injuries. At least he was something different.Except, at the dawn of the 2025 […]

Napheesa Collier injury update: Lynx star, WNBA MVP favorite upgraded to probable Sunday vs. Fever

Minnesota Lynx star and WNBA MVP favorite Napheesa Collier has been upgraded to probable for her team's game on Sunday against the Indiana Fever. Collier, who has not played since Aug. 2 due to a sprained right ankle, is closing in on a return. She went through pregame warm-ups on Friday before being ruled out. Collier's injury, which occurred during the Lynx's historic 53-point win over the Las Vegas Aces, stirred controversy because it happened late in the third quarter with her team up by 43 points. Many wondered why Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve still had her superstar in the game. "I don't think about those things," Reeve said at the time. "It's the third quarter of a game on someone else's floor, I don't think the game is over. I don't think like that. She had a sub there and she wasn't […]

A’ja Wilson continues MVP push with another 30-point game to lead Aces to 10th straight win

A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces cannot be stopped right now. Wilson poured in 36 points on Saturday afternoon to lead the Aces past the Washington Mystics, 91-81, for their 10th consecutive win. Less than a month ago, the Aces were below .500, and on Aug. 2 they lost by 53 points to the Minnesota Lynx -- the second-largest defeat in league history. They haven't lost since then. Their 10-game winning streak, which is the Aces' longest since they moved to Las Vegas and the longest in the WNBA since 2021, has vaulted them into third place at 24-14. Instead of worrying about hanging on to one of the final playoff spots, the Aces are now right in the mix for the No. 2 seed and are in the driver's seat to earn homecourt advantage in the first round of the […]

Carson Wentz working out for Vikings: Why journeyman QB makes perfect sense as J.J. McCarthy insurance

It's not just wide receiver help the Minnesota Vikings are after. One day after closing their 2025 preseason, the NFC North contenders are hosting journeyman quarterback Carson Wentz for a free agent workout, as ESPN reported. It's the clearest sign yet that coach Kevin O'Connell and Co. are not satisfied with the current insurance behind first-time starter J.J. McCarthy.McCarthy, 22, is locked in as the starter in Minnesota after an uneven but altogether promising summer, but things behind him are murky. Sam Howell, the former Washington Commanders starter, was acquired via trade with the Seattle Seahawks as a would-be No. 2. And he flashed a lively arm in training camp. His energy didn't translate to steadiness, however, as evidenced by an erratic preseason in which he put the ball in harm's way and was generally outperformed by undrafted rookie Max […]
