How Sprints could decide the F1 title battle

As if the climax of a tense battle for the 2025 Formula 1 title wasn't enough, three Sprint weekends across the final six rounds of the season are about to add more drama into the mix.Lando Norris has reduced his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri's championship lead to 22 points, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen continues to lurk 63 points back from the Australian. While there's no doubt that Piastri has the upper hand, the 24 extra points available across 100km Saturday races in Austin, Sao Paulo and Qatar will undoubtedly heighten Norris' hopes of pulling off a comeback.A quirk of this year's schedule means that for the first time since the Belgian Grand Prix in July, the Sprint format returns this weekend at the United States Grand Prix in Texas and then alternates in and out for the remaining rounds […]

Arch Manning unfazed as Steve Sarkisian retools Texas offense amid mid-season roster shake-up

In the wake of two unexpected departures, Steve Sarkisian is recalibrating the strategy at Texas Longhorns. On Wednesday at the SEC coaches teleconference, he addressed the losses of sophomore running back Jerrick Gibson and senior kicker Will Stone, both of whom left the program after participating in four games this season and intend to preserve a year of eligibility by redshirting before entering the transfer portal. Sarkisian did not mince words. "They wanted to redshirt and transfer," he said, referencing Gibson and Stone's decisions. When pressed on how the team would compensate for those departures, he stated: "Who will take those carries is everybody, whether that's Tre, whether that's Christian, whether that's James, whether that's Cedric when he gets back. We've got ample bodies; we should be okay in that aspect."For Texas, this moment presents more than just a roster shake-up. With Arch Manning entrenched as […]
