Noch ein Promi auf Shoppingtour!
Matthew Vaughn, der Ehemann von Supermodel Claudia Schiffer, will sich beim FC Brentford einkaufen. Der britische Produzent und Regisseur könnte damit der nächste prominente Premier-League-Klub-Besitzer werden.
Vaughn und Claudia Schiffer wurden im Dezember 2024 gemeinsam mit ihren beiden Töchtern bei einem Heimspiel des FC Brentford gesichtet. Nun soll der 54-Jährige Gespräche über eine mögliche Investition führen.

Der britische Filmproduzent, Regisseur und Drehbuchautor ist seit 2002 mit Claudia Schiffer verheiratet. Zu seinen bekanntesten Werken zählen die „Kingsman“-Filme (Drehbuch, Produktion & Regie), „Argylle“ (Produktion & Regie) und „X-Men: Erste Entscheidung“ (Drehbuch & Regie).
Für den Premier-League-Einstieg soll sich Matthew Vaughn mit dem südafrikanischen Geschäftsmann Gary Lubner (66) zusammentun. Gemeinsam wollen sie eine Minderheitsbeteiligung erwerben.
Laut der englischen „Sun“ ist Brentford-Eigentümer Matthew Benham (57) bereit, zwischen zehn und zwanzig Prozent seiner Anteile für 40 bis 80 Millionen Pfund (zwischen 47 und 94 Millionen Euro) zu verkaufen. Der Verein hat dazu noch nichts bekanntgegeben.
Brentford wurde in der vergangenen Saison Zehnter. Die „Bees“ mussten allerdings den Abgang von Trainer Thomas Frank (51) zu Tottenham verkraften.

Der Hollywood-Star erweiterte damit die Promi-Liste im englischen Fußball – Das wohl bekannteste Beispiel ist und bleibt aber die Übernahme von Ryan Reynolds (48) und Rob McElhenney (48) beim walisischen Fußballklub AFC Wrexham.
