Wird DAS sein neuer Verein?
Es waren brisante Wochen für Ange Postecoglou (59). Erst gab es den historischen Titel in der Europa League und nur 16 Tage später stand der Griechisch-Australier ohne Job da. Doch Gerüchten zufolge muss Postecoglou nicht lange auf eine Anstellung warten – ein Team der Klub-WM baggert an Ange.
Laut der britischen Rundfunkanstalt „BBC“ ist der Ex-Spurs-Trainer bei MLS-Klub Los Angeles FC im Gespräch, um Coach Steve Cherundolo (46) zu ersetzen. Der ehemalige Profi von Hannover 96 wird den Hollywood-Klub am Jahresende verlassen und nach Deutschland zurückkehren.

Zudem nahm sein Team als Nachrücker an der momentan laufenden Klub-WM teil. In der Vorrunde schied die Mannschaft aus der Stadt der Engel jedoch ohne Sieg und mit nur einem Punkt als Gruppenletzter aus.
In die erfolgreichen Fußstapfen Cherundolos soll im Anschluss an die Saison Postecoglou treten. Im Mai gewann der 59-Jährige die Europa League mit den Spurs und holte somit den ersten Titel seit 17 Jahren nach Nordlondon. Doch trotz des historischen Erfolgs musste der Ex-Celtic-Coach gehen. Grund: nur Platz 17 in der Liga und die schlechteste Premier-League-Saison aller Zeiten.

Doch der MLS-Klub ist wohl nicht der einzige Interessent. Laut der britischen Tageszeitung „The Telegraph“ ist Saudi-Klub Al-Ahli an Postecoglou dran, falls Cheftrainer Matthias Jaissle (37) im Sommer nach Europa zurückkehrt.
Als Nachfolger Anges installierte Tottenham Thomas Frank (51). Der Däne kommt vom Liga-Konkurrenten Brentford für über 10 Millionen Euro Ablöse. Frank schaffte es, den Klub nach dem Premier-League-Aufstieg 2021 zu stabilisieren. Nun soll er die Spurs aus dem Tabellenkeller holen.
