Después de deliberar durante unos segundos sobre una jugada pocas veces vista, los árbitros concedieron, como exige el reglamento, la canasta a favor del combinado australiano. Seini, un joven coloso de 2,16 metros, acabó el partido con 15 puntos y 24 rebotes, pero su flagrante error costó caro.
Camerún acabó perdiendo el encuentro después de dos prórrogas. Al final del tiempo reglamentario se llegó con empate a 83 después de que Australia consiguiera enjugar esos seis puntos de desventaja.
