O Al-Hilal surpreendeu o mundo do futebol, venceu o Manchester City por 4 a 3 na prorrogação e fez história na Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa. Nesta segunda-feira (30), o clube saudita contou com um dia inspirado dos brasileiros Marcos Leonardo e Malcom para derrubar um dos favoritos ao título.
O time da Arábia Saudita tem agora o Fluminense de Renato Gaúcho como adversário nas quartas de final. Depois de superar a épica batalha contra a equipe de Pep Guardiola, os asiáticos ganham moral dentro da competição e sonham alto.
Domínio do clube inglês no primeiro tempo
Como era esperado, a equipe de Pep Guardiola dominou a primeira etapa e teve 63% de posse de bola, além de nove finalizações. Aos 9′, o time inglês fez ótima jogada coletiva pela esquerda, em tabela de Rayan Aït-Nouri e Reijnders, e a bola sobrou para Bernardo Silva abrir o placar. O lance gerou polêmica por conta de um toque de mão do lateral-esquerdo do City, mas o árbitro considerou sem intenção.
O Al-Hilal ameaçou em alguns contra-ataques, porém foi os europeus quem tiveram as melhores chances. O brasileiro Savinho saiu na cara do gol e driblou Bono, mas o goleiro se recuperou e evitou o segundo gol. Bernardo, Rúben Dias e Doku também tiveram oportunidades e não conseguiram aumentar a vantagem.
Segundo tempo de reviravoltas no Mundial
Al-Hilal voltou com tudo do intervalo e virou o jogo. Malcom fez linda jogada pelo lado direito e tocou para João Cancelo cruzar forte na área. A bola sobrou na cabeça de Marcos Leonardo após bate e rebate, e o ex-Santos deixou tudo igual. Minutos depois, o time saudita aproveitou espaço depois de um escanteio do City e Malcom ficou livre para correr e chutar na saída de Ederson.
O clube inglês reagiu imediatamente, aos nove minutos, com um gol de Haaland em sobra na área em lance de escanteio. Com o duelo em 2 a 2, o time de Manchester voltou a normalidade de controlar a posse e rodar o jogo em busca de espaços, enquanto a equipe asiática procurou se defender bem e explorar contra-ataques.
Já se encaminhando para o final da partida, os ingleses aceleraram e quase fizeram mais um gol em jogada de escanteio, mas o time da Ásia tirou a bola na linha. Sendo assim, o embate terminou empatado em 2 a 2 no tempo normal e foi para a prorrogação.
Prorrogação “maluca” e vitória do Al-Hilal
O City foi pra cima no começo do tempo extra e levou um contra-ataque do Al-Hilal, que achou um escanteio e anotou o gol de cabeça com o zagueiro Koulibaly. Nos minutos finais do primeiro tempo, o francês Rayan Cherki acertou um cruzamento perfeito para Phil Foden, que finalizou com extrema categoria para empatar novamente.
O brasileiro Marcos Leonardo apareceu mais uma vez no segundo tempo. O jogador revelado pelo Santos estava com dores e quase saiu de campo, porém resolveu ficar e fez o gol que deu a vitória histórica para o clube saudita no Mundial de Clubes.
Fluminense à espera nas quartas de final
O Fluminense derrubou a Inter de Milão, vice-campeã da Champions League, e garantiu vaga nas quartas de final da Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa, com gols de Germán Cano e Hércules, nesta segunda-feira (30), nos Estados Unidos.
O Tricolor Carioca terá como desafiante o Al-Hilal na sexta-feira (4), às 16h (de Brasília). Os dois clubes eliminaram os favoritos na Europa e agora buscam a semifinal do torneio.
