Gabriel Bortoleto conquistou os primeiros pontos na Fórmula 1. Neste domingo (29), o brasileiro terminou o Grande Prêmio da Áustria na 8ª posição e foi eleito o piloto do dia pelos fãs da categoria. O empresário do brasileiro e ainda titular do grid, Fernando Alonso, comemorou o resultado.
“Incrível. Feliz por ele. Bortoleto foi excepcional a temporada toda. Por um motivo ou outro, Hulkenberg estava marcando pontos, mas acho que ele talvez já merecesse marcar antes deste. Espero que seja o primeiro de muitos. Os primeiros pontos na Fórmula 1 têm sempre um sabor muito especial”, declarou.
O resultado do brasileiro não foi melhor por detalhes. Bortoleto tentou assumir a 7ª posição. Ele atacou Fernando Alonso, mas não conseguiu ultrapassar o bicampeão mundial. A presença do vencedor da etapa, Lando Norris, é um fato que merece atenção.
Isso porque Alonso e Bortoleto foram obrigados a diminuir a velocidade para deixar o competidor da McLaren ultrapassá-los. O piloto da Aston Martin falou sobre a disputa com Bortoleto.
“Foi intenso. A primeira coisa foi a estratégia. A equipe estava certa. A estratégia de uma parada foi ideal. Foi mais rápida porque eu não estava tão veloz quanto a Kick Sauber ou a Haas. Mesmo assim, terminei na frente deles”, reconheceu.
“A parada única foi a escolha certa. O timing e o pit stop foram bons também. No final, tive sorte, pois quando Bortoleto chegou com um ritmo melhor, eu tinha o Norris com as bandeiras azuis. Com isso, Bortoleto não conseguiu me atacar nas voltas finais. Isso significou que a corrida ficou mais curta”, finalizou Alonso.
A Fórmula 1 volta nesta semana com a realização do Grande Prêmio de Silverstone. O evento será disputado nos dias 4, 5 e 6 de julho.
