Ex-Bundesliga-Boss Peter Knäbel (58, u.a. HSV und Schalke), der ab dem 1. August das Präsidenten-Amt des schweizerischen Fußballverbandes übernimmt, überraschte mit einem kuriosen Regelvorschlag im Frauenfußball.
Er empfiehlt eine andere zeitliche Struktur als bei den Männern: „Warum nicht dreimal 30 Minuten? Warum traut man sich das nicht? Ich möchte ermutigen, das Anderssein im Vergleich zum Männerfußball zu leben.“

Man müsse „den besonderen Charme des Frauenfußballs“ betonen, forderte Knäbel. Spielerinnen hätten in der Vergangenheit versucht, sich „wie die männlichen Profis“ zu benehmen. Dabei sei gerade die Nahbarkeit und Authentizität ein Trumpf.
Was halten die Spielerinnen davon, die immer wieder darauf hinweisen, Männer- und Frauenfußball als eine Sportart zu betrachten? Antwort: nicht viel! BILD fragte bei den deutschen EM-Spielerinnen nach.

Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch has been banned for one game without pay by the NFL after he punched Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster in an incident that set off a post-game scuffle.
