Im März wurde bekannt, dass sich das Team von McLaren sich nach der laufenden Saison aus der Formel E zurückzuziehen wird. Der Sportwagen-Hersteller will sich auf die Formel 1, die IndyCar-Serie und auf den Einstieg in die Langstrecken-Weltmeisterschaft 2027 konzentrieren.
Seitdem wurde nach einem Investor gesucht. Laut einem Bericht von The Race ohne Erfolg. Noch vor Ende des Monats soll die Lizenz an die Formel E zurückgegeben werden.

Damit wird die kommende Weltmeisterschaft wohl nur noch mit 20 Fahrern stattfinden – das erste Mal seit Saison 4.
Und was passiert mit Taylor Barnard, der diese Saison alle überraschte? Laut dem Medienbericht soll sich der Brite mit Jay Penske geeinigt und einen langfristigen Vertrag bei DS Penske unterschrieben haben.

Am Wochenende steht erst einmal der Berlin E-Prix 2025 in Berlin an – die vorletzte Station im Rennkalender der Formel E. Am 26. und 27. Juli steht nur noch der London E-Prix an. Danach ist die Saison vorbei.
