Am Rande der vierten Etappe zwischen Amiens und Rouen wurde beim Radsport-Highlight ein Messer-Angreifer in der Nähe der Ziellinie von der Polizei mit Schüssen gestoppt.
[–>„Le Parisien“ berichtet unter Berufung auf Polizeiquellen, dass sich der Vorfall in der Nähe des Ankunftsortes am Cimetiere Monumental de Rouen ereignet hat.
Der Täter bedrohte demnach Passanten mit einem Messer, bevor er einen Polizisten angriff. Glücklicherweise trug dieser einen Brustpanzer – und blieb somit unverletzt!

Staatsanwalt Sebastien Gallois in einer Erklärung: „Die Polizisten verfolgten ihn und versuchten, den Angeklagten zu überwältigen, der daraufhin einem der CRS (Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité – auf Deutsch: Republikanische Sicherheitskompanien) einen Messerstich in den Oberkörper versetzte.“
Ein Kollege gab daraufhin einen Schuss mit seiner Dienstwaffe ab. Der Angreifer wurde dadurch leicht am Bein verwundet und anschließend festgenommen.

Wegen des beherzten Eingreifens der Polizisten konnte der Mann keinen Schaden anrichten. Gegen den Täter wurde ein Ermittlungsverfahren wegen versuchten Mordes an einem Polizeibeamten eingeleitet.
Ersten Ermittlungen zufolge ist der Mann 21 Jahre alt, floh Ende Juni aus einem Krankenhaus und wurde seitdem gesucht.
